As it stands I can't imagine any of the out of contract players staying, possibly Ferguson might. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few transfer requests as well. I might be misjudging the atmosphere inside the club, but from the outside it just seems a complete shit storm.

6 players that's it, can't see many of the others wanting to re-sign either. What a shambles!

Pity about Mancini but obviously Pools not prepared to take a risk on his fitness levels.

The incoming players will come in as late as possible to scrooge on wages.
Fergy will Deffo sign. Don't need to explain why.

The other offered contracts will get as long as they want to decide.

Relegation battle nailed on and the bookies will pick up on it.
Bet early!

Wondering if the club have had some sort of medical assessment that indicates Mancini is just not physically up to full time professional football.

Sorry but how long has all this planning behind the scenes been going on.

This surely couldn’t have happened if a new owner was in the offing as that would be their choices to make surely?

I can’t believe there ever was ever any chance of a take over on what evidence I’ve seen.

I can safely be described as incandescent at the prospect of the probable season of siege football that is on the horizon.

I know bigger things to worry about but a shame about Mancini, quality player who deserved more leeway

Why the fuck have we kept Hunter…in reality a big clear out was needed but we know under this structure they will be replaced by shite

I might put a bet on us to win the title or make the playoffs as you'll get good odds.

25p should make a couple of quid. bbolt

With our odds now, 25p should net a couple of thousand quid.

I think its fair to say with that retained list that the Yorkshire, Oldham and Halifaxs won't be having sleepless nights over us next season. Love to know what Featherstone has done and a few others to still be here. Looks nailed on a relegation battle, especially with an unproven aussie in charge things look really bleak. I hazard a guess the derby matches with darlo are getting very close once again.

What a desperate few days this has been.

This shows that Raj really does not have a feel for football.
He could sell HUFC now as a mid table NL club but is blissfully unaware that in twelve months time he will have an NL North club worth next to nothing for sale. His best chance of making a few quid is to get a bet on for relegation!

It's a fair bet that Mancini is the only player that Pools have ever released whose last game for the club was a MoM display.
It's amazing that he was never fit enough again even to make the subs bench... unless a decision was taken not to select him because his card was already marked.

Hunter maybe got the nod because there's only one centre-back left on the books and he can at least fill in there

It must be obvious to anyone following last season's games that in order to avoid dropping 2 or 3 points and win, some quality from the likes of Cleary and Mancini is needed. Without their likes, 'siege football' is a perfect description for the backs to the wall, draw seeking offerings to which we can look forward.

Can't see what he was meant to do otherwise with the retained list?

All the players under contract or worth keeping are retained. Those out of contract offered new ones.

Only possible is Mancini who is sadly injured too much. Hunter who looked ok early season until injured and not too bad the last couple of games or Dixon who was playing well until the injury, but as he was going last summer if anyone wanted him it's not really anything other than expected.

At least the poorer or older players haven't been retained.

Plenty of new players will be available in the summer.

Maybe the wages saved on the likes of Waterfall and Madine- can be redistributed to make decent offers to Mani D, Joe and Sheron sctatchinghead

It's only just sinking in that I'll never see Anthony Mancini in a pools shirt again, I'm finding it really upsetting, he's been my favourite player for decades.

Got to admit, I'm a bit gutted about that too.
Given how long we held on to Luke Williams and a few others, I'd have offered him a one year deal.

What players would come to Hartlepool after all the current goings on and thinking Pools could go into administration.

The thing is a lot of players been binned from other clubs will be thinking Hartlepool Utd is a last resort if nobody else wants me.

And don't rule out MannyD preaching he never wanted to leave Pools when that scenario kicks in.

I know Madine went into walking football towards the back end of the season.
But he's 100% better than the front 3 whose agents worked miracles to keep them at Pools.

But the Bunkers all about opinions.
We agree. We differ.

But the clip of our team and boardroom is the reality of opinion.

Singh may have the backing of 63% of the season ticket holders but how many of these are actually going to renew until such time that the dregs of last season's squad is significantly improved into something that can at least compete in the NL. Cue an appeal from Singh for fans to purchase ST's etc etc to 'boost the budget' - isn't this how Darlo operate?

No the Darlo operate together without that dictator calling all the shots now.

Unfortunately the bastad ended up at Pools. :angry-tappingfoot:

putting cleary and mancini is the same sentance is a disrespect to cleary who was a proper pro footballer. willing to play, learn, improve and be available for games. mancini a wage thief who i have wondered this season if he was as injured as much as the club says he was. available when it suited him has always came to my mind, and its a pity charman had not his skill as well.

Keep up Accy - it's 10 players. Optimistic corrected himself a bit further down the thread.

Assuming Limbrick is still in a job, the speculation about new signings will start next week. That's football!

its going to be like the past where we seemed to get at least half a new team every season but knew we had only one season to suffer them. then they were no better or worse than the ones gone but might be different this time around.

Are you questioning that AL didn't have the full say on the retained list.
Maybe Leonard interfeered again.

This club under Sing is bent to Fcuk.

Don't rule out a return of Mancini on appearance wages
