Usually just before Laura f*cking Tobin comes on to tell us the world is doomed because we have too many people taking too many foreign holidays, or having the temerity to own a car.

Turn your TV off, and as if by magic all this shit that winds you up will disappear in a poof - quite literally - and you will all feel much better.

And after a few weeks, you'll be ready to do the same with that Devil's Dildo you carry with you 24/7.

In Orwell's vision of the future you couldn't turn the TV off without being arrested and tortured, but right now we still can.

It's funny you should mention that mind.

Let's just say that if I were to appear on that TV show "Would I lie to you?", and my statement to the other team was "In 1982, the Mayor of Chepstow spent an evening looking up my skirt", then it would not be fallacious...

Justin Rowlatt, BBC Climate Change editor. The Beeb wheel this guy out whenever there is a flood, named storm, drought, high wind, brush fire or a warm sunny day - purely to remind everyone that the end of mankind is nigh. Otherwise he doubtless stays in his tin shed fiddling with his climate control drawing down his huge Beeb salary.
