I was in the ground really early today, watching the lads warm up,especially that possesion game they play, get it keep it give it.And basically thats how the match went,if orient had come out in yellow bibs and joined in the warm up thats how it would have looked.
we outclassed and outpassed orient today no question. some of their fans said as much after the game.what a joy to watch, every pools player wanted the ball, looked comfortable with it and didn't want to lose it.
we must be a nightmare to play against, there was a point in the first half when we didn't have the ball and every pools player was on the move, they were like bees round a lavender plant in july.no wonder some of them were getting cramp later on.
I can understand why some people have slagged moore and barker this season but I reckon that's more to do with how danny wants them to play.they get very few balls to feet and form the first line of defence more than the attack, moore's weakness is that he doesn't gamble or try to predict the play so he looks half a yard behind.
anyway the keeper mostlt had a mare and then produced one of the best saves I've ever seen to keep us in it. Boyd was gash, way off the pace and nelse had him in his pocket
top of the league you're having a laugh

Agree completely! Nels had Boyd under control from the off.

First rate performance all round, and DW knows exactly what to do and when to do it (unlike myself!)

Great stuff and I reckon the third goal was one of the finest I've ever seen Pools produce, pure class!

Heady days indeed...outclassed and outpassed....couldn't have summed it up better!

a truly genuinely joy-to-watch performance if ever I witnessed one, with some sweet football and cracking goals. The third and fourth were pure magic. A sign of a good team is switching personnel without any disruption to the side's fluidity, and we showed that yesterday. Even after them getting within one goal of us, we simply upped the pace and the style to go back two clear. Ben Clark coming on as a late sub and carrying the ball from his own half deep into opposition territory summed up the confidence of this side, and led to goal number four. Porter's run right at the end which produced the chance which ended in a great save by Stuart Nelson, typified the determination to not settle for four when we can have five.
Humphreys was quality right throughout the game, his only bad moments getting the wrong side of the wide man a couple of times in the second half which allowed crosses to come in. His passing and link-up with Monkhouse, and then Brown when the wide men switched, was simply excellent. Ditto McCunnie - what a signing this lad is.
Boland oozed class again but didn't last the game as we expected, and I think we see the best of Liddle when Boland plays. The middle four were simply superb, evrybody wanted the ball and the running and movement off the ball is what football should be all about. I can't praise any of them highly enough for playing away at the league leaders like that. After two games without a win, it's back to business as usual, and I hope the lads don't get complacent against Walsall next week.

I cannot believe I missed the game, i'm absolutely gutted. Any chance they can repeat the performance for Forest!

Does this mean people are going to stop banging on about Boyd at every opportunity? Brown has scored as many Moore has one less. He (Boyd) isn't a Danny Wilson type of player lets respect that and show the manager a bit more respect, the bloke has got us playing the best passing football we have ever seen. Porter as well needs to get fitter and up his work rate if he wants to oust Moore or Barker, Joel scored a great goal last week but he was blowing out of his arse in the few minutes and he only played a half of football. A key part of our team is the bench at the moment as well such is its strength, that's Porters role at the moment.

I think we are genuine promotion candidates, on our day who in the league is better than us? Look at out best eleven and find a weak link, we are a far better side than the last time we went up.

Saw a quote from an O's fan saying that we were even better than them in the warm up,we were like.

One of their fans said to us going back to the car that we were just lucky. rolfl
