And a good set of friends and family to help, ever tried manipulating sofas and easy chairs through doors, there is a technique not unless they can be dismantled. Try carrying a full size mattress down a flight of stairs.

Real people know exactly what is involved in house removals. But thanks for your concern.

Having moved more times than I can remember Leggie I am one of the real people, I never relied on friends and family, always used a removal company
Your back to normal, can’t wait to have a dig at me,an obsession with you, mentioned it before,
Someone who is excessively and uncontrollably fixated on another person, to the point of unhealthy obsession, is often described as having "Obsessive Love Disorder" (OLD) or experiencing limerence, though these are not formally recognized mental health conditions

Accusing someone of having not recognised mental health problems because they interrupt your flow is lower than a snakes belly…behave.
Read the bottom line Snowy, i have put it in capital letters so you fully understand it, jump in with both feet anything to try and dig me up as usual, I think you have the OLD syndrome too.
THOUGH THESE ARE NOT FORMALLY RECOGNISED MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS.
That’s not the point and you know it.
The implication is still there, made up illness or not, that’s a piss poor veneer of an excuse…seriously bandying words like that about is pathetic
No implication there, obsession by someone who spends his time trolling through 14 years of my membership on The Bunker for what reason ? another take on OLD just to be clear I was not referring to anyone’s state of health.
Obsessive love disorder is not a medically recognized disorder but refers to a fixation on another person as if they are a possession or object.
Don’t address me like a public meeting…you were out of order.
End of.

No you are Snowy but you would never admit it, you hate being proved wrong, normally you ignore the comment or reply I don’t give a flying f***, you need telling some times, Point out where I was out of order, I never said OLD was a mental illness it’s an obsession one of your fella posters has about me.

Jesus. An unassuming little topic about moving house turns into Jamie's one-trick pony act of falsly accusing everyone else of behaving as only he does in reality.

If that's what moving to the Lady-boy's Republic of Siam does to yer, then count me out.

Etcetera etcetera...

No nothing to do about where I live it’s posters insinuating I am a liar, btw Siam well Thailand isn’t a republic, get your facts right.
Thailand categorizes itself as a constitutional monarchy, the king has little direct power under the constitution and exercises power through the National Assembly, the Council of Ministers, and the Courts in accordance with the 2017 constitution.

This is your silly remark to me suggesting Mutley could have hired van a lot cheaper a lot quicker. You are suggesting I had never hired a van to move house when vast majority of people have. Also have the cheek to explain to me how to manoeuvre furniture around corners etc do you think everyone is stupid. As if your are talking to someone young and inexperienced. My reply was not even bad to you merely thanked you for you concern. You then came back and made other comments on removals etc. Then went into one of your usual rants that was totally uncalled for yet again. Why can you not see this really doesn't fit in with the low level of wind up chat going both ways. You always feel the need to rant and rave about you getting attacked etc. WAY OVER THE TOP LIKE. banghead

Right I have one last suggestion to sort this silly nonsense out once and for all but I bet 100% you will continue regardless.

You want to try it before criticising the place, you ever been to the Far East, I very much doubt it, I think farthest you ever get to is the Vic, on a Saturday afternoon for the home games.

Hi Jamie, ever been to Penang?, Langkawi?

How about Kuala Lumpur?

Great places and great food.

The Seychelles are worth a visit, stunning beaches and of course Mauritius, fantastic food there.

Let's change the subject and talk about something else other than the feud between you and Leggie.

Apologies Kenny I was being a bit harsh there, Thailand and I know your are pi** taking is not all about Ladyboys. It has given me the opportunity to visit other countries nearby, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, we are going back to Vietnam in a couple of weeks time, I prefer it to Thailand but they don’t do long term visas.

Only been to Penang on a visa run, passed through Kuala Lumpur on my flight back here last time due to a flight diversion. The good thing about living here is cheap flights and short hops to nearby countries. I have done Cambodia, Bali and Vietnam, Vietnam twice, we are going back for 3rd time in couple of weeks, Hoi An. I would like to do Hong Kong in October and Osaka Japan next year, life’s too short not to plan ahead.

Anywhere up north has breath taking views, Chaing Mai can be a bit touristy though, it was very popular with the Chinese pre covid. Wat Rong Khun (Thai: วัดร่องขุ่น), better known as the White Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Pa O Don Chai, Mueang District, Chiang Rai, i was there a few years ago, I think one of the best in Thailand although you have 100s to choose from.
I hope he has done his ‘homework’ on her, many sad stories where Thai women have fleeced foreigners leaving them penniless. You have to remember in Thailand family comes first, your second.Have you asked how much sin sod he is paying, you give to the parents a sum of money or gold.

Never been but being pushed into going by my son due to this up coming wedding to meet her family etc. She is a doctor and they met a few years back at a charity event in Newcastle. They have lived together 3 years and she is now pregnant. They go over once a year to spend time with her family but I really am not that keen to be honest. Its a long way to go to meet a family who will probably find it just as akward as we do. They haven't yet decided which country the wedding will take place in so everything is up in the air. She is a lovely well educated respectful you lady but I really am not sure whats going to happen with the wedding and the baby. banghead Also even though her family have a large hotel apparently they do not speak English at all just leave their staff to do the talking to holiday makers.

Yes it can be very awkward, the family just stare at you, in some cases they see you as a walking ATM. Communication can be difficult as not many Thais speak English.
A long way but you need to spend at least month in Thailand to appreciate it long flights, last time took over 30 hours due to cancellations but normally 16/17 hours, just do it Leggie, life’s too short, it will be a wonderful experience.

I obviously do not wish to miss my sons wedding and yes I agree it would be a wonderful experience. As for going for a month thats what they do every year in December. They tell me Christmas day is not a public holiday although there is a festive atmosphere and celebrations. They said restaurants in the tourist areas put up decorations and lights etc. Apparently Santa is very popular which I found strange. Very colorful Christmas trees and even carols. Also told me majority of the population is in fact Buddhist which also surprised me. But joking aside its obviously a beautiful place and one day maybe next year we will be have to go. Hey who knows me and thee could have a piss up in your Village.

say what you like about tourism visiting thailand is seen as somewhere you would think of going unless you are into sex tourism. like going to benidorm if you hate the heat or a non gambler to las vegas. it might have its own beauty and culture but what is the percentage of those who see much of it.

Drove through Benidorm once in transit…dunno why ….but Scarborough came to mind, only a bit earthier.
I suppose people go where they want to go.
I know where I like and that’s my preference, but don’t expect people to agree with me.
I hate the phrase if you haven’t been there don’t knock it…but you go by the image of any place before trying it…and I don’t like the heat?

I only ever went there once for my mates bachelor party. I am certainly not a snob in any sense of the word as others on here could confirm. However I found that place nothing but a drug filled Blackpool on steroids. Been to many spanish locations mainland and canaries etc. But I honestly would never go to Benidorm again if they paid all my holiday costs and give me £1000 spends. banghead

Benidorm isn’t the real Spain, I have been there not impressed either, little Englanders trying to recreate England in Spain and ruined it.

Same here Leggie, fights are common place fuelled by alcohol but many have found it’s not a good idea to pick a fight with a Thai as half a dozen others will suddenly appear to kick the sh*** out of you.

Been to Benidorm once and the ex-wife booked it...I said...youfuckingwhere???
She replied....Benidorm...(in a scouse accent)!!!
You can fuck off I replied.
Anyway we went...I was married. sadx
Tell you what...it was brilliant. Took ages to find a tab shop and an English Pub. We must have been in the 'posh' part. Honestly really enjoyed it. Whilst searching for a Tab shop me and the bairn got caught up in a Catholic Religious Celebration...(fuck knows)...but we joined in the procession. Brilliant. Would I go again...yes but only to that place. :-D

like obviously pataya aint the real thailand but you will be able to see what goes in in both before you travel. put either countries in a search of the net it will not take long for both to appear. i,d guess these towns and sililar ones get more tourists than the real parts of any country does due mainly to conveniance or giving the tourist what they actually want.

.

Looks like I've hit a nerve. You didn't accuse them of being racist, did you ????
No very racist stuff on this board, just Englishmen exercising their right to an opinion and free speech. Now you're questioning the time over posting. You might have the time to sit in judgement over every post with a racist card in each hand and three up your arse but some of us have better things to do. :o
As a matter of fact I am having a major alteration to my house at the moment. Do you want me to give a kick by kick account of the experience?? Tell you what..........none of the workmen are racist but the bastards are drinking my coffee like it's going out of fashion. Mind you they haven't done anything backside first like in your experience, so they must be happy with MY level of interference. :-D
Now Fuck Off and when you get there...Fuck Off again.
I pinched that off you, did you know.
