Terrible game to watch but obviously happy with the result . Midfield none existent in the second half . I guess we are safe now from being relegated . Mom Parkes.

Reckon Mancini was rested because of the pitch rather than injury? Either way a good win!

No wonder Parkesy has a face full of scares and bumps. One attack he was laying on the floor near the penalty spot after slipping but AMAZINGLY just as the striker was about to shoot he stretched out his neck and " face nodded " the ball off his boot. For those of you who missed that please take another look. ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING BRAVERY A PROPER MAN PROPER CAPTAIN AND HARD AS FOOK. I personally award him man of the match and player of the season for that alone. Not witnesses anything like it BRAVERY wise since the hard bastards of the 70s Terry Butcher step forward.

What do you know Loyal you predicted Tamworth would finish bottom after Pools won first game of the season. You said something like " Pools struggled to be a Tamworth part- time shit team and got lucky to get 3 points and certain they would finish bottom 4 " Look at this shit team now they are on a unbelievable run with a great chance of a play off spot.

Just having a laugh sorry Loyal. therethere

Strange game Pools good value in the first half, hard fought three points.
Mancini unlikely to return this season.
Bus down on the day for Dagenham Raj pulling the plug further.

First half was decent from pools, need to see that madine chance again because everyone thought that was in! Great goal from cleary again, he's a real talent that lad. Second half was a scrap and I thought we sat far too deep and invited pressure on BUT they never tested smith and there was some great defending from the lads, especially parkes who was MOM.
Though the 514 pools fans were top notch today as well. It's a good little away day Halifax, the three pigeons pub is fantastic and the bogs in the away end have that feeling of times gone by....pissing on a wall and honking!!!

He is player of the season by a mile. Can’t ever fault his commitment and consistency. When your not playing particularly well and on the back front this is
the sort of player you need. If we had 11 of him playing every week we would be in the playoffs. Can’t believe Halifax are 5th.

top away day performance for me. scored a good winning goal and defended for our lives after they improved in the second half. fans in good voice as well. only downside was finding we were in the old stand and not were they normally put us and taking 20 minutes to find a car parking space even with my local knowledge. even a bit of old school handbags near the railway station after the game spoilt by there lot shouting yorkshire yorkshire and not town or halifax.

Yes 3 pigeons brilliant pub. Why doesn't Hartlepool have pubs like that. John Smith and Fosters the disgusting shite in most of our pubs

years ago before i was old enough to drink it was the other way round. even back in the 60,s halifax was the last resort for us going out and anybody who came to the vic with me raved about the pubs in hartlepool and its beer.

My lasting memory of Halifax was an evening game Pools won but the winner came from the late great Lenny Johnrose. Pools had a corner and the Halifax keeper Lee Bracey I think shouted leave the black b------ to me the ball came over and Lenny scored. When the celebrations died down Lenny stood in front of the Poolies and shouted The black b------ scores again, the best put down for racism ever.

Where on earth do you get that from? Post-match Limbrick said "he wasn't able to train on Friday" - which is a million miles from 'refused to train." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0l162rd

Great result, possibly the best of the season, so far !! well done the players and Limbrick.

It may be a bit early to say this, but get the impression Limbrick is slowly starting to turn things around. I was, like many others, critical of his Tombola type team selections in his early days, but I'll cut him some slack, and suggest maybe his tinkering was in the hope of finding some sort of formula and balance in the team, he seems to have found that over the last 3 or 4 games, with a more settled starting eleven, starting with players like Madine and Miley, and playing players in their best positions.

Hopefully this improvement can continue and save what has so far been a disaster of a season. 6 games to go, surely 60 points isn't too much to ask, though 65 points and an 8th or 9th place finish would lay some foundations to take into next season.

So right about the Charman/Mancini combination. Mancini goes back to France to get his treatment has a bit of the hippy about him, doesn’t drink gave him MOM bottle away and is quite religious. Was so disappointed when I heard he was not available after last week.

thought he just said did not train on friday like hogans said that made him unable to play yesterday. the way i heard it could easily be taken as a refusal by not turning up if he had not informed the club.

One of the top 25 pubs in the UK, in Halifax IMO, The Big Six, a couple of miles from the centre, but a classic. I hope you managed to get there. Halifax is a cracking place for real ale and pubs, used to go there quite often a couple of years back, used it as a base when walking the Pennine Way, and Canal walks etc.

need to be ever so grateful to him if he decides everything in his favour to make himself available to play. feel if this was back in the old days when things came out of the club more there would be a few stories around about his fitness and how fit he actually is.

you have said it a tourist. the whole area has been pushed by the yorkshire tourist board over the years to allow these places to continue and be set up. if only hartlepool got the same amount of good publicity it would re dress the balance. once if you said you were visiting the halifax area for a holiday it sounded too stupid for even a top commedian to bring that joke off.

Yes Ben Clark who despite his close relationship with Gateshead still loves Pools and especially the supporters. I got that directly from the horses mouth. The man is different gravy.

Strange with Barron considering the length if time he was at the club, could never fault his commitment as a player. Maybe trying to be ultra professional and therefore neutral as a co-commentator. Unlike that idiot from Halifax who could barely form a coherent sentence.

I have Tees on when I'm driving over to home matches and I've definitely heard Micky say "we" about Pools during the bit of chit chat when the teams are first announced.
As you say, he probably tries to be more old school during the game itself.

Totally agree.

The combination of Rob Law and Micky Barron is brilliant. We're lucky to have them considering what we hear from some other clubs. I still miss Eddie Kyle though.

Strangely my mother who has never really been to Pools very much, got addicted to Tees commentary in her mid 70s. She never misses now and it gives us something extra to talk about on the phone.

Eddie was top drawer on Tees.
Called it exactly how he saw it, whilst providing great insight blended with some excellent stories.
One of my favourite sweaties (not an easy accolade to carry off, given my normal disdain to their general populous), and a proper adopted Poolie- always talked about we/us.
Been a big miss since he packed up

I'd have Ben Clark as Eddie's full time replacement

Yeah we are still pretty spoilt for co-commentators. We're a non league club with EFL standard commentators.

We're a non league club with EFL standard commentators.

exactly. this is the last thing we can complain about and even her in the kitchen listens to our games when i,m not about.

I've heard Barron say we/us numerous times aswell Hogans.

Amen to that.

or paper over the cracks shown in three quarters of the season. thought last season would have been that, getting rid of the deadwood and laying foundations for this with our 12th finish. then its back to square one appointing the chancer for another wasteful few months.

Halifax manager in press saying they lost because the ref wasn't any good, mainly because Mani won loads of free kicks and we scored from one. Also moans the yellow cards to Halifax were unfair.

Well last time i checked mouthing off at ref / pulling players back are an auto yellow, the ref gave sod all as Mani was constantly manhandled in 2nd half, and if you can't defend a 45 yard central free kick, that's the players fault.

I've got so say it really gladdens my heart to see whingy daft comments from the oppo manager. And I thoroughly enjoyed my day out in Halifax getting a nasty gritty win.

Amen to what? I only made a couple of observations, nothing concrete. Though I did suggest around 6 weeks ago, that Miley and Madine should start. I can only conclude that maybe Limbrick reads and takes notice of what I post

well if he does it could be the reason we have seen some improvement over the last few weeks.
