Yep, it was a pleasure to see Mancini dancing rings round the opposition again. What with his injury problems and Raj's latest dummy spitting episode, it's unlikely there'll be many more chances.

Fair play to the rest of the team for ignoring the off-field crap and showing a good attitude. Another game Pools would have won with some half-decent finishing.

Joe and Mani aren't going to get many offers from other clubs if they carry on being this wasteful. The NL is full of forwards with better goals to games ratios.

I definitely noticed we upped the work rate by a country mile. Just got to wonder if that was because of it being a live game or the players working harder to earn moves as opposed to caring etc. sctatchinghead

Very frustrating again. The man marking for their goal was atrocious and Parkes bollocked Manni immediately afterwards (although to be fair Manni's a center forward and maybe a defender should have been in front of the goal scorer). A few other take aways from me...

I hope that Campbell is only on a one year contract. He doesn't tackle, he doesn't score and his passing is poor (his running about pretending to be involved and pointing at stuff demonstratively is pretty good for this level though).

Cleary would be absolutely awesome if he could cross (he can't from what I've seen so far). He's still a cracking player though.

Sass Davies is a solid option at the back and had a good game.

Louis Stephensen is getting better with each game.

Joe and Manni aren't.

A fit Mancini running rings around defenders is a joy to behold and his link up play with Charman tonight was a highlight for me.

For the first time tonight I thought that Miley looked promising. He worked hard, he puts himself about and his corners and set piece deliveries were excellent.

We still managed to throw away 2 points tonight though. Solihull were poor and if we can't beat them, playing pretty well at home then I'm well and truly worried about the rest of this season.

Not a Campbell fan but he was better today than Sheron. Almost forgot he was playing till he got himself booked.

Agree, pity he wasn’t on with Mancini as they’re the only two who can perform that quick response passing technique football.
What makes Campbell look out of place is the inability of some of the players on the pitch have lesser technical skills as posed to physical ability and while good at tearing around like horse with their arse on fire are a bit dim when it comes to decide just where they’re actually running to,
We have too many runners without a destination in mind.
Mancini was worth the money for his performance alone, particularly where he motored round the entire penalty box leaving confused defenders in his wake..
Wasn’t gonna watch it but the pull was too strong.

Mancini could be Messi for all I care, its no good though if he's only playing 15 games a season. A lot of the time nothing comes from his fancy footwork, and quite often gives the ball away as a result. He was good yesterday, but then again was only on the field for 20 mins or so with no doubt a mandate to do what the hell he liked as long as it got us a win. Play him for a full 90, and you'll see plenty of mistakes. Get rid at first opportunity I say, players like this don't get you out of this league.

Well it doesn't look like any of our players are interested in putting themselves in the shop window.
Probably

Dust settles down in May.
Raj has a change of heart.
Finish 19/20th with a lot less fans.

Thought it was our most energetic display in ages, Once again unable to capitalise from good positions, once again their keeper was their mom but even so our finishing is woeful (combined with absolutely no luck of the bounce at all).
A season of what could have beens, and a season of who knows what to come - the life and (hard) times of being a Poolie.

if the league had balls they would dock the point gained by both teams off the total they have. not disappointed they equalised as our performance as well as there one deserved naff all. never seen so may miss placed passes in a whole game. even cleary played for himself yesterday. joe grey decided to have his worst game in a pools shirt and a good number of the others showed reasons we do not want em at the club next season. so bad that charman and a player we have forgot existed were our brighter lights in the end.

It's been a dreadful season, very little excitement, very little anything really. We are very lucky this league has been weak as piss this season. But if this season is the one to bring change then I think the majority will accept it. The quality of our finishing is ridiculously bad and that's why the works spend their money on what they do. Big changes are needed next season and the guy recommending these players shouldn't be anywhere near the club anymore.

know where you are coming from but a good team needs a mancini in the side. compare the team riding high in the league with him before his injury to the one now. we,ll never do anything with a team of sherons, hunters and there ilk which showed earlier this season where one in the side is needed with a flair player on top.

you can have all the energy in the world if a they are unable to find a team mate with a simple pass and wasting that energy to get the ball back again.

how many seasons do we need to make these changes that will not happen overnight. nobody minded a 12th finish last season as it was thought of as a season of stability after the scottish experiment that went wrong. even that was better than this started by a fool who overeacted to our weeknesses. we,ll end up looking back at a season where the best, if you can call it that, was under a bloke born when there was another king on the thrown. surely this can only happen at pools. all this club has is a decent fanbase and thats been tried and tested as far as the club can and they,ll lose that loyalty if they are not careful. big question is does the club deserve us as we deserve much better than this.

Can someone at the club tell SMITH he can leave his line.
Simple FK knocked in, And a simple catch/punch.
Their keeper, Young lad on loan was getting in amongst it where it hurts.

Smith fooking wake up!
Noticed AL never gave it a mention, Do we have a keeper coach any longer.

I watched the goal back and it's clear Parksy points to the scorer and instructs Sheron or Charman sctatchinghead to mark the player. But he simply stands still and allows a total free header. I blame whoever that lazy player was.

Exactly ! a good team, such as Barnet, York or Forest Green, who could probably carry him, but not a team full of average players. In a team of plodders, a couple of Sherons are much more important than a luxury, show pony like Mancini. For a start you'll get 35-40 games out of a Sheron. Like I said, a 15-20 game a season player is no good to man or beast, no matter how good they are, IMO

thats the problem though we find ourself in. when he arrived he was an important part of a good team until everything that could go wrong did. we were left this season with a manager who saw the way forward in sheron, hunter and the like to scrape out results on a weekly basis that the fans did not like. just another of the pools experiments that fell on stony ground by winding players up pre match to get those sendings offs and cautions that dried up once he went.

And now Fylde and Dagenham winning who we play away in a few weeks.
This Ebbsfleet fixture in a few weeks is now becoming a must win game.

Watching Maidenhead vs Aldershot. Grim.. but I hope neither of them goes down. 2 matches I get to in under an hour.
Boston on a really good run and announced full time next season. Quite an incentive to stay up although they have an ever bigger problem with geography and getting players to locate there.
It could be irrelevant.. Pools might be relegated or not have the funds to start next season anyway.

The effort levels from Boston are outstanding.
Cant see us getting more than 1 point from Boston n Halifax.
So Ebbsfleet at home will be pivotal IMO.

It's going to be massive game now. Its time we finally put a few chances away and get the 3 points in the bag. If on the other hand we lose it will drop us firmly into this relegation battle and I for one am not sure we would survive.

what a shit season this has been gone from creating sod all or put away the few chances we got to crating loads and look likely to score less than before resembling an under 11 team playing on a mudbath penalty area swingling there legs and missing the ball. must be a real laugh for our opponents fans watching us.
