Early days but is anyone seeing something I’m not with him?

His recent cameos have been poor with him struggling physically and positioning wise (2 bookings last 2 games for being wrong side of his man)
He’s obviously surrounded by shite but he’s not a baby as in his 20s, hopefully he bulks up and comes good but it’s been a fairly blah start to his career here so far..

Think he's a good signing and looks decent but needs more game time. You do know that he had 7 minutes to make an impact last night? At least when he was wring side of his man he stayed with him, unlike Fev who is lazy and slow out of possession but somehow keeps the shirt.
Got to give the kid a run of games before we can really get an idea of his abilities.

He was 21 less than 2 months ago. More to the point, he's still adjusting to lower league men's football after years in an academy.

I'd start him with Sheron in midfield and build the team around them (particularly as we know they are both under contract for next season).

This would be my team for Saturday at Eastleigh. 4-4-2

Foster in goal

Dodds, Billy, Parkes (C), Ferguson

Grey, Sheron, Miley, Cleary

Madine, ManiD

Subs-
Smith, Stephenson, Waterfall, Fev, Folarin, Charman, Campbell

Make that our starting 11 for the next 3 games, barring injuries/ suspension. With players playing in their proper positions. Rather than drawing the team out of a hat every week. We need some stability and a pattern of play.

Get the ball on the deck and play football with purpose- and NOT worry or get spooked by the opposition before a ball has been kicked- as it feels like we play Man City away every week!

I'd be happy with that team getting a run of games.

The bugger is that Jack Robinson got crocked against York when he was looking a class above Fergie as a defender. The lad only has a contract till the end of the season and might not get many more chances to prove himself.

A young lad like Miley should be starting every game IMO. Nowt to play for this season, ideal opportunity to get some games under his belt and mistakes out of the way, then kick on next season.

Not done much so far when coming off the bench, apart from a couple of needless bookings, which suggests a potential edge to his game, if coached properly.

Good midfields have that right mix of types of players, the flair player, the creative general and the pressing, disruptive, foot in player, our problem is we've had a succession of Managers who have brought in, or had brought in 3 random midfielders all of which fit the same type, and subsequently it doesn't work, when was the last time you saw a midfielder burst through the middle and score?, they're all lacking in pace, square passing, crab like if you like, Miley should be starting for me too, or we'll be coaching the flair out of him like we seem to do with most young players.

you know now that sarll would never have signed the lad and previous ones would have stayed well clear of sherron and hunter. thats been our problem for years and you cannot put it all down on the availability of players.

I think he maywell have a bright future.

Gets the ball down (no panic)
Can find a pass (IF someone makes a run)

And does not mind putting his foot in.

Exactly this Feather, Shelton and Holohan worked as they complimented each other---fuckwit Sarll brought in Sloggett, Hunter and Sheron who are all variations on the same player.

The players getting binned in May should of already played their last games.
But this is Pools and the Elite boardroom don't have a clue yet who is doing the retained list.
Hopefully not LL or relegation will happen next season instead of 26/27.
