The way I see it we have 2 players signed up for next season
I would actually want to keep Parkes and Sheron
Smith I am blah on the rest I would get rid of we could.

We have a bunch I would keep who will be fucking off Grey, Madine mani D Dodds etc..

And a bunch of shite we are stuck with

Add that to a reduced budget and the usual confusion about who is in charge and it adds up to us being fucked next year in a big way

The mail seem to reckon Sheron is out of contract, if so you can assume most of Sarll's heroes will be too.
Think the only confirmed players for next season are Smith, Parkes, Miley and Folarin, which isn't a bad start if we could also keep Mani D, Grey, Mancini, Dodds, Sheron. Unfortunately I doubt that'll be the case

I hope Fevs stays on even if he is only a couple of years behind LL.

Campbell wouldn't have turned down a new deal with Crawley for a 12 month contract offer from Hartlepool. So he's one for next year too unless his contract is cancelled by mutual consent. That's possible I guess as he knows he's anything but a fans' favourite and probably thinks he could do a lot better somewhere else. Like Gateshead!

Decent manager and decent backroom staff is what Pools need, without that every season is going to be the same, 10 ordinary players out , 10 ordinary players in, cue more inconsistency and mid table finishes. The current side should be doing a lot better, but our backroom staff, particularly the bloke in charge of recruitment seem clueless. Now in the past it seemed we signed bog standard players because we didn't have the money, but I can't believe the likes of Campbell, Parkes, Smith, Dixon and Mani D have moved here to be paid the lowest wages in the league. The recruitment is shit and the coaching and training are shit, it has to be that.

Of course having probably the worst Chairman in the top 5 divisions doesn't help matters.

Wouldn't think training almost exclusively on 5g helps either?

Fair assessment. I don't know what the overall playing budget is or how it compares with the other 23 teams in the division, but when the FA publishes how much clubs have spent on agents' fees in the NL in a season Pools are always in the top half dozen. https://www.thefa.com/news/2024/apr/12/ ... ansactions

years ago teams who did well usually were the ones with the biggest support. now its all about the size of an owners pocket and there willingness to make up the difference between say fyldes gates and ours. it always gets me why these teams with zero history and few fans get the rich owner and we are stuck with bad ones or ones unable to push the club any further. york would still be in the northern section without the money thrown at the team and the manager and not the owner would be paying for it with his job.

agree, and what gets me is when you see other teams they are not all that great and its rare to say i wish we had him in our side. the difference is they look to have a real plan, play as a team and unlike pools they look to have used their time on the training pitch better than us.
