Agree 1-0 to Pools.
I am banking on a Featherstone rocket.

Surely to f*ck Featherstone won't feature let alone score. I would say he's a shadow of his former self nowadays but it's actually it's more like he's twice the man he was judging by the f*cking gut on him.
Surely now we're past the point of same old game in game out.
Personally Id be bringing some of the kids back and let's find out if they can do a job - Stephenson could do with a run of 5 or 6 games as a start. Miley should be starting every game now alongside Sheron in the middle.

Was having listen to AL taking ( on Tees) about the York goal saying he,ll have a look to see if Smith could have done better, No mention of Featherstone.
So don,t be surprised if he plays tomorrow.

I for one don’t think that Smith could have done much more. I was bight behind the Town End goal. Feathers was in possession, he had the ball under control but switched off completely, accidentally knocked the ball forward instead of clearing and gave the in-form York striker a chance to strike the ball cleanly and powerfully (unlike the Pools impotent and/or inept strikers) into the top corner. This gave them something to hold onto and they duly grabbed three points when a draw would have been a fairer result.

3-1 Fylde - Grey comes on as a 2nd half sub and nets a consolation goal.

Yep, we let Shelton go now he's running the show for runaway leaders Barnet, we let Crawford go who's an ever present at play off chasing Altrincham, but kept the crab. The man who's been out of contract what 4 times while at Pools but never an offer for a player according to many is the best midfielder in the NL. It's a strange one.

it goes much further than blaming a player who gave away the only goal of the game. his overall play does not warrent inclusion in the side and i,m one who over the years has defending him. if he was a car he,d fail his mot s oanywhere but pools who gave dodgy ones out. i,d hate him to be remembered by fans by his performances over the last few months instead of his years at the club. everyone plays their last game and his time is well up at this level.

One of the issues with playing him in the holding role means you have 2 have someone else in there to make up for his lack of mobility and tackling ability. So with a back 4 and a keeper that's 7 out of the 11 in defensive positions.

Less of a chance of winning now they have chased Phillips, play like Saturday and we’ll win but this team just finds different ways to lose, been a little while since we had a red card so can see that happening tonight and limpy will have a new story of sadness to spin

Pools let Shelton go when they were in League 2. Shelts didn't really cut it in the EFL - he was in and out of the team in the first season after promotion and only had 7 starts in 6 months in the second.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but there weren't many on here who thought he was worth keeping at the time.

He was great for us when we went up and now he is in his element in the National League again - though Oldham didn't rate him and terminated his contract at the end of last season.

Yeah we kept Fev who's really made a mark in this league. I rated Shelton and Crawford, and Mafuta till he spat his dummy out.
What's even worse at the moment is we're playing our best holding / ball winning / most aggressive midfielder at RB?

He's spot on though, all of those observations were correct.
Who apart from Joe Grey had a good game?
Not starting Cleary because???

both shelton and crawford did decent jobs for us especially when the team was playing well. even the league 2 joke fondop might have done well for us at the standard he is at and is used to.

Steady on Accy - I agree with most of what you've said, but Fondop  is a bridge too far for me!

Bored that he's having to say it- given how fucking useless we've been in recent weeks. Though at least he has the stones to say it, as it is and not sugar coat it as some journos do. He's clearly empathetic to our pain.

The confidence of the team in front of goal is completely shot. Just can't believe how many sitters we've missed in the last half a dozen games alone. Why does the opposition keeper always seem to have a blinder, whilst Smith throws one in, like he did last night. :angry-tappingfoot:

That is my thoughts exactly Kettering.
Why do we always come up against keepers who play like internationals?
IMHO it is more to do with the lack of finishing power of our players that allow them to enhance their keeping reputations.
