so if you are born in england how many generations back do you need to go until you can say you are english. he is english born and bred of parents from pakistan. if he was a footballer he could play for england which is far better than someone born in pakistan with a single english grandparent.

I cannot see why another race wants to be English, they should be proud of who they are and where they come from.

If I moved to China and had kids and grand kids born in China, there is no way they should be able to play for any national Chinese sporting side. I would want them to be proud to be English. I certainly would not class them as Chinese!

basically its all about how long it takes to be english. some will say its X number of generations whilst others will equally say its where you are born. both sides are correct its just how you look at things yourself. only thing i wonder is would khan be looked at differently if his parents were aussies, christian and by that they actually worship but born in england himself. if he was not such a diversive character i doubt this subject would be coming up anyway.
