Just 20 energy companies have made a staggering £457 billion in profits since the start of the energy bills crisis.

As of the end of August, following 2024 interim results, profits have amounted to over £457 billion since just before the energy crisis started. £61 billion has been posted in profits this year alone.
How can this price rise be justified ??

Didn't that arsehole Starmer say just prior to the election that he was going to stop these price rises?

Hasn't there been 3 since he became PM?

Miliband still hasn't replied to my letter (mentioned on another thread) sent on the 10th of Jan.

Does Miliband even exist? Is he real?

You’d be surprised how many of the ecobots think oil is unnecessary and whose masochistic voyage of doom is worth the bother.
Why do politicians hang on every word of minuscule groups of gobshites yet ignore and despise the majority of voters.

Wonder what would happen if those numbnuts had to give up anything in their lives, That was produced using oil.
What would they be left with, Thick Kunts.

I saw groups of students in the states being interviewed about their green credentials and when they realised the consequences they all suddenly realised the consequences…..what I found disturbing though was that the supposedly brightest of their generation had no concept of the consequences to this dramatic drop in lifestyle by believing this guff…they just swallow what they are told by the their lecturers who dwell in their own padded cell.

What the most annoying part is the U.K. buys the majority of its gas from Norway and will continue to do so for years, the U.K. is surrounded by gas in the North Sea and onshore as well.

if only. ours has gone up 9.99% and they are getting away with it because they say the council is bankrupt. bankrupt in thought and priorities more like it as they,ll find something to top up their city of culture farce when the free money given to them runs out. yet to find another person who is interested in this and that includes a councillor who just rolls her eyes if its mentioned.

Before the election they were promising to freeze energy prices, freeze council tax, protect the WFA, not increase taxes etc etc
They are the biggest set of frauds I have ever known in government.

Surely it’s better for the town to managed locally than hundreds of miles away unfortunately you need competent people to do that.

no thankyou. we have enough people ruling our lives. we have a national government, a metropolitan council and a town council that are voted in by a lower number of people the lower down the scale you go. even if everyone used their vote it would not mean the competant ones would be running the show. cannot see there will be much differences to the problems of either hartlepool or the area i live that needs multiple scales of government to run the show at different rates people have to pay.

The problem is most MPs don’t come from the place they represent so have no idea of the area, Mandleson and Mortimer, what did they bring to Hartlepool ?

surely that should not matter as i have said that most places do not have a problem thats unique to their areas. then how many become a local mp who does the best for the town they represent. one thing in the favour of an outsider is they come with no old feelings about the town and have no agendas. i have never been to braintree but i,m sure i could represent the town as good or as bad as could one where i have lived or live.
