I'm having a few days in Whitby so instead of paying Dazn to watch Pools and hate it, I've come to watch Whitby Town.

A central midfield pairing of Michael Woods and Lewis Hawkins. That brings back nightmares. Manager Gary Liddle. Connor Simpson and Nathan Thomas on the books but not playing. And Matty Tymon playing, who might have been a youth with us??

Pitch is way better than ours!

What was the result? And more importantly are the pies there still good?
I go to a small club down here in the south and can enjoy a panini and a pint while watching the match.

Pie a bit dry sadly, but good bovril and a pint to keep the chill away. WelI I say chill, it was absolutely bloody baltic!

1-1 draw vs Hebburn. No bullshit, diving, timewasting or feigning injury. Both sides tried to play football. Enjoyed it.

I did that for a few seasons running a few years back. Pick out a midweek game, usually early season, September/October, book into a B&B train down to Whitby, get there for lunchtime, 7 or 8 pubs, then off to watch Whitby, takeaway then back to the B&B, as usually knackered by then. Nice walk around town the following morning, then a few more pints, before heading home around tea time. Used to really re-charge my batteries, a nice little break, I would highly recommend.

thing is they,ll win sod all playing like that. they,ll learn eventually that what we see regular will eventually drip down to that level when some shithouse 11 gets success.
