you have never met. Like on the bunker for example...I have an imagine of some posters and this is 100% genuine and not a go at anyone. One image I get of Jamie is Foggy of Last of the summer wine. The one I get of Derwent is his cast member Clegg. I just need someone to be Compo to complete that set. What images do you get of Bunkerites you have not met. sctatchinghead

think of billingham as a older but shorter christopher lee in vampire outfit who instead of sucking the blood out of you he sucks out any hope you have.

think the biggest shock is when you meet a player and find out none of them are what you expect after seeing them play.

Battling Manners was in the fifties one of the fattest blokes I have seen. He was known for the floor in the Musgrave St auction house collapsing under his weight.

It's not 'Lord Smythe' from Durham, which is who I think you are thinking of Leggie. Looks a lot like Ken Hodcroft this picture mind.

Anyway on the subject of having images of fellow posters, When we went to Cardiff, as I paused on the steps of the Millenium Stadium, there was a fella, a good few years older than me, came and stood beside me, doing the same as me just soaking in the scenes outside, 'You're Monty aren't you' I said to him, having never laid my eyes on him in my life, 'Aye, I am' he said, 'how the feck did you know' he said, 'I've got ne idea mate, I just did' I replied . Fecking Spooky it was , I honestly just knew it was him.
Anyone else remember Mr Montpooliere (nickname Monty) from this old board years ago, a very regular poster back in the day.

Wow looks like him its tormented me for hours thinking of his name. After reading your message I had a closer look at the picture and bloody hell it does look like Hodcroft. I have just looked at Wikipedia on Hodcroft and he is a qualified physician. I remember Monty user name aswell.

That is the reason why I posted the photo, I am glad others think it looks like Hodcroft. I will rack my brains to see if I can remember the lad's name.

Yes Lord Smyth, did he not run a half marathon every day a while back?

Anyone remember Wolverhampton Trev form the old board In The Net?
And the cyclist who cycled to a fair few away matches?

I am sure Uncle Ken lives near me, used to write the odd letter to the local paper every now and then.
Also Newcastle Uni offer a scholarship under the name of Hodcroft and Larsen (remember him) to potential female engineers.

If you watch Switch of Play in the interview with Hodcroft, he is a Newcastle fan, after leaving a game him and Larsen decided to buy a club which eventually was Pools.

Interesting fact in 2019 Hodcroft was announced as the Brexit Party candidate for the constituency of Hartlepool. He later stood down due to business commitments. He was replaced by Richard Tice, the Brexit Party chairman who came 3rd.

He is now a director of CLAYTON GLOBAL LIMITED a holding company registered in the Virgin Islands as were Pools in the IOR days.

Yeah good bloke was Monty, remember speaking to him after the play off final in Cardiff and he was speaking to another old poster called BaselPoolie who captured an absolute beaut of a photo of Daly scoring

40 years old- I'll take that Leggie! (47 in May)
As for Harry Potter (nearly spat my coffee out in a fine mist, when I read that) probably more like Brian Potter, minus the specs and wheelchair!
However, I do like to think I'm a wizard in the workshop - well good enough to impress the kids at school!

I'm a big unit- 6ft 4
My Mum reckons I'm the spitting image of Michael Ball (the singer) though don't see it myself like.
I used to have blond hair as a youngun but it's darkened a bit with age. I wouldn't say I was receding, but I find it does take me a bit longer to wash my face nowadays! I also have a goatee.

Apologies for shattering the illusion! bbolt

Ah, you’ve heard about his plastic surgery at the ‘New Faces for Old’ clinic at Shotton.
He wanted a Kier Starmer job originally ….but the surgeon refused, as he only did human faces.

you have never met.

I imagine Walter Mitty Shithead looking a lot like Compo

And I'm looking forward to meeting Leggie.
I'm 100% certain we know each for sure.

Hope his real life crack is as good as what it is on here when the vip party happens for Deffo in the summer.
