racist award if there ever was one. if it was a MOWO one there would be any up in arms about it. music, by composers and artists should be across the board and colour or race should never come into it. where is the inclusivity they bang on about it here.

Berkley Hunt loves stirring it. He's best ignored in my opinion.

It’s all part of the Woke culture, ie the ‘inclusivity’ philosophy rarely works both ways. I’d rather watch Peppa Pig anyway.

Kanya King launched the MOBO awards in 1996 with business partner Andy Ruffell.
The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin, also known as the MOBOs) are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in "music of black origin", including hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.

Good on them I say cos those genres of music have always been overlooked by the more mainstream music awards. clappp

But I must admit I'm not too fussed on the other genres.

I enjoyed the Bob Marley biopic last year. The Exodus album really was the dog's bollocks - never off the turntable at parties in the late 70s.

Excellent Album but just pisses me off that loads and loads of original Ska and Reggae bands/artists don't get the same recognition. sadx

Exodus was given all the credit and the World wide sales it deserved 50 years ago..If people like grime and drill rap they'll buy into it...What exactly is your point,Mutley.??

i,d guess the top ones do like the top black jazz bands and muscicians back in the 1920/30 also did in an era of mass racial descrimination in the usa. cab calloway and his all black band sung minnie the moocher a favourite of mine from the 30,s but did not make him, his band or the record any worse or better by finding out eventually they were black and not white artists when i saw them instead of just having to listed to a scratchy 78 rpm record.

There probably isn't that much music left that hasn't been influenced by black artists or culture or owt like that. Plus you don't have to be black to win an award. Pretty inclusive.

99% of music today originates from early black music.
