Don’t get me wrong, I like Ringo – he’s my fourth favourite Beatle. But let’s face facts, he got by with a LOT of help from his friends.

Ringo’s easy going personality was instrumental in helping the other three get along. This in itself was not an easy job. During recording one of the later LPs Ringo got so pissed off that he stormed out and “left” the band, then received a telegram from the others to come back, to find his kit in the studio covered in flowers, from George.

It’s hard to imagine the Beatles with another drummer.

Saw Ringo playing with a group called Rory Storm and the Hurricans when playing a season at Butlins in Wales about 1960/61.

John Lennon said that Ringo wasn't the best drummer in the Beatles. A very lucky man!

Being the Beatles drummer was hardly challenging.

I vaguely remember reading that Lennon played the drums on some of the Beatles recordings.

I recall a man in a pub in Liverpool telling me when Lennon got married for the first time, he invited the group to the wedding with the exception of Ringo.
Somehow it didn’t surprise me.
