Both Carlisle and Oldham have gone from tier 1 to tier 5.
Raj will only go on his own terms regardless of what the fans want.

Carlisle weren’t in the Premier League but the old First Division, yes you are correct Oldham were, it was a quiz question and the answer was wrong.

Burnley did it I think.
Almost went out the league but recovered well.

Same size club/Town as Hartlepool.
We stuck in a major underachieving mode lately.
Still a last chance saloon season.
Raj knows it.
We all do.

Prayer mats on the floor.

The return of hooliganism.

Carlisle were in the top tier before it changed to PL, can remember them actually topping the table for a short time at the start of the season but they ended up relegated. As I recall, I think Bill Green played for them at the highest level, probably wrong as my memory is not the best nowadays.

I believe your correct. 1974 was the year. Carlisle paid Pools £15000 for Bill Green's services.

That's right. At the minute Carlisle look very likely to be dropping into the National League come the end of the season. Be interesting to see if they can buy their way out of trouble this transfer window - like Crawley did a couple of seasons ago.

there is no comparison between burnley and pools. burnley for most of their existance have been a top division club where we were a bottom one. its this idea of little town burnley and a local team for local people thats off the mark. they are the biggest club in east lancs and a big following in yorkshire along the calder valley with historic following. turn the clock back 100 years and we had their success i,d guess now we,d be in their position with different problems of staying in the top flight instead of sytaying in the 5th tier.
