of failed asylum seekers sent back to their home countries since the election in July...the highest number in 5 years.
Looks like Labour are just quietly getting on with the job.

Seeing as how the numbers have went up since they got elected they’ve broke even.

The upward trend started long before the election under the Tories according to BBC. The numbers haven't been crunched yer to see if the trend under Labour continues to rise, flatlands, or even fall.
Credit for the actual numbers certainly, to whom it's due is not known. So not a Labour success story so far is it? Haven't they just announced more hotel rooms for the illegal invaders btw after telling us they were getting them out of hotels and into holding facilities?

Boat crossings only went up because of the mild weather we've been having...always does.
At least Labour are dealing with the backlog of applicants...something the tories just ignored for years.

If Labour actually did anything that they said they would then the whinging would subside a bit.
They were going to smash the gangs, yet record December arrivals yesterday. Is that a box ticked?
Their number 1 priority was growth yet we've had 2 months of negative growth and nowcits not a priority. Another box ticked?
Energy bills were going to come down?
Standards of living were going to increase?
Build 1.5m houses?
No increases in taxes for workers?
All bluster and the gullible bought it, now we've got another 4.5 years to suffer. And they're only getting started!

know thats an improvement on the tories and nothing can be done at once but its still a small percentage of those who have made it here. are they getting on with the job quietly because they well know that some of their supporters would want every single one of them to stay and eventually allow all their dependants to join em.

I wonder how many of those 'nearly 13,500' deported were actually boat people as opposed to students outstaying visas, Vietnamese nail bar workers, illegally employed waiters imported from the sub continent etc. More asylum seekers are being processed and allowed to remain because they have to 'reduce the backlog' and they do this by not checking too deeply. Basically waving them through. We also know that if an asylum claim is rejected an appeal is immediately launched and a legal wrangle ensues. The idea that someone arrives by boat and is deported in any time line of less than a year is pure fiction. Oh and to save time: yes the Tories were shit as well.

I have mentioned this before, my partner has had 4 U.K. 6 month Visitor Visas, once she arrives no further checks ins are ever carried out, providing she kept under the radar she could stay forever.
In her home country after staying for over 90 Days you have to check in at Immigration failing to do so and you get stopped you are sent to a detention centre then deported, no lefty lawyer available and even if there was they would be wasting their time, once a decision has been made you are on the next flight out of the country.

According to the Office For National Statistics no less than 84,000 people claimed asylum in the year ending in June 24. So even if Cooper deports 27,000 a year we still have a surplus of 57,000 asylum seekers not being deported. Funnily enough, Cooper forgets to mention this. I guess these 57,000 are all fleeing, war pestilence and persecution and the British taxpayer has very deep pockets.

The right way to approach issues like with is to do the boring, technical stuff well. That takes a bit of effort and organisation, which is probably why it's easier to shout about Rwanda and getting the navy involved. We'll see how it goes number wise after a year but the approach is more reassuring than anything we've seen in the last few years.

I realize your favourite trick is to ignore the content of a post and answer a post that exists only in your head. I will clarify on the off chance anyone is reading this whose brain has not been addled by glue. My post was about Yvette Cooper posing as though Labour were actually doing something serious about illegal immigration when this is not the case. Despite her talking it up, the small number of deportations will make very little difference. I made absolutely zero reference to any other issue.

Absolutely. The arrivals have all unaccountably lost their documents.

I’d like a breakdown of those figures, data without depth is wallpaper in the pattern the provider picks.
I did it for a living a long time ago….check every facet, as they never quite match up, especially where politicians are involved ….. of any Party.
