8 days away but has to be 3pts to keep this last chance saloon season alive.

Anything less than a win ends the season.

Them 2 Us 3.

That's the same scoreline as last season. That would do nicely but I reckon 1-2

Was there Last season and Mancini gave the best midfield performance in many years. He was voted man of the match by the Southend sponsors and applauded of the pitch by the whole crowd when substituted late on.

1-3 victory- ManiD, Madine & Mancini to score

Though would take a point now- as defeat would mean a painful Xmas for me, having to suffer the smugness of my SARFend supporting outlaws.

Wonder what happens on the 4th now.
Do we rearrange a mid week fixture.

Or go to Barnet after a lengthy lay off.

So far you have sold 59 away tickets and the total gate is 5612. By match day that will probably rise to 6.9/7k gate. Looking forward to this provided Mancini doesn't perform the way he did last season at the Hall. We're on a bit of a decent roll at the moment so you'll need to be decent to take anything from the game. Safe journey to all those travelling down.

Mancini has struggled with the last managers hoofball and fitness after a year off. The new manager prefers him on the bench and a bit type player. However he played 80 odd minutes on Tuesday night and was man of the match. Our winger got injured so after that brilliant performance I expect him to start this time and he should be starting every game from now on. He is desperate to be given a start and being fit now he will be eager to play and back to his very best I would imagine. If he starts we win it's that simple for me like. Unfortunately for you lot its in time for your game and another chance for your sound supporters to enjoy the best player in the league.

We have been struggling in midfield since the injury to Cav Miley in August, but he is now fit again and snapping at the heels of those that cause us pain, so it should be an interesting battle in the middle. We also have a young loanee from Luton, Bim Pepple, who is on a scoring roll at the moment, very strong and very hard to knock off the ball. He's worth keeping an eye out for as he could have a very good career higher up the FL.

Mancini will be out wide if he starts and combining with Dodds which should cause problems
Unfortunately our manager is super conservative so expect a right side of Sheron and charman (knowing our luck he will be fit) and us plodding our way to being a goal or two down after an hour before we change it

Expect 2-1 to Southend and the usual philosophical/I don’t really give a shit interview afterwards from Lawrence as he supplements his pension

Is it right that you (SARFend) sacked one of your better players earlier this season for allegedly being a bit light fingered in and around the home dressing room? (My outlaws did say who it was, but I've forgotten) sctatchinghead

Always had happy memories of Southend and Foulness in the early 80’s….and the unfortunate incident where a certain ship collided with the pier and demolished the bogs……..imagine having a good strain and a bow comes through the wall behind you….luckily they were empty I was informed:laugh:

Expecting a bounce back win to enhance the amount of luck favours we got during the week.

Unnatural that we only won back to back games twice this season and only 3 pts behind the top 7.

And then we must back it up next week at home to Yeovil.
End the 1 up front bollocks at home and we automatically finish in the top 7.
Dont and we gambling with the clubs future as Failurism will non league us forever due to this last chance saloon scenario.

just go out for the win and let them bother about us. if we lose well at least we gave it a go and we will have lost only one point less than just turning up to defend for a draw. time for a bit of bravery instead of being too safe.

This game will be a huge test of progress being made. If we win this that really gets the season up and going. If we draw that would still be progress but only if we play well. If we lose but play well and are unlucky it wouldn't be a disaster but it would increase the pressure on the players going into the next game. I hope " The Machine Mancini " finally starts because he is ready and raring to go.

Not a happy hunting ground, Southend away.
Only 3 times we have won there in 25 visits.
A home win is the the percentage call I'm afraid.

Call me a pessimist but after a decent performance with about 20 minutes to go I am expecting the usual sickener of an opposition goal. Bound to happen.

Fair result but we set out to keep a clean sheet and nick a goal.
Can someone tell Lennie that the rules have changed and it's only 1 point for a draw.

We have drawn 9 times, the most in the league. If we had lost 5 and won 4 we would be 3 points better off and on the verge of a playoff spot. Draws are rubbish. We should be playing to win even if it means some losses.

Fair result but we set out to keep a clean sheet and nick a goal.
Can someone tell Lennie that the rules have changed and it's only 1 point for a draw.

That was Sarll's strategy and I hoped we had learned our lesson.
