Any scheme designed to get people into work has got to be given a good coat of looking at.
The simple basic is creating the jobs that will attract the youngsters et al.
Adopting policies and tax regimes that close businesses down or make it more costly to hire won't help.
I'm all for having incentives to get people into work but the balancing act is to also give incentives to businesses to create the work.
It's a two way street.
For example we have a minimum living wage but because of our daft attitude to tax thresholds we then pay tax on a good chunk of that minimum wage. Governments have to stop telling people they need a minimum hourly wage, telling businesses to pay it and then pinching a chunk of it in taxes, thus taking essential funds away from the most needy.
I'll leave pensioners out of this one.

thats the british problem thats been going on since even i left school. once it was all snobbery by looking at certain jobs and now its seems as if its below people working in these types of jobs after being sold the pup of education, college and university. by what i have heard in other countries a job is a job and nobody is looked down on by anyone who works in any field.
