Mctee - agreed, it will be a different game. That first half last night was like ping pong at times. Full backs given license to come forward meant at times we had 6 to 7 players in attack. Fylde occasionally had us on counters so we might need to be a little careful with Barnet as they will be clinical when the ball transitions and we go from attack to defence very quickly. Waterfall and Parkes were very good but aren’t blessed with pace so you would think a better team would have caught us out with the openness at points. Think we tweaked the system and retained the ball better in the second half so was far more controlled for 20 mins. Nice to be discussing a win though and it’s damn better than it was under Sarll.

As you say Mctee though, Barnet will likely open up more themselves for as long as they are either drawing or losing. Much like the Solihull game, I expect goals.

Charman starts again for me. He looks like a proper athlete at the minute and had their full back on toast. It’s pretty unbelievable to have a player like Mancini to bring off the bench and I thought he played great again when he came on yesterday. Alongside Featherstone, he is the best through ball and passer in the team. You can’t waste talent like him so needs to be brought on around the 60 min mark for whichever of the three of Grey, Charman or Campbell is gassing or proving ineffective.

I don’t think the division is as strong the time we got promoted out of it, nor do I think we need to be as good as we were that season. In saying that, I still think there’s an obvious top 5, with 6th and 7th the positions you can say it is all to play for.

Yep - I was just trying to think of the last time a Hartlepool winger created 3 goals in a game... Andy Monkhouse? Brian Honour? Has anyone?

I think Gateshead will fall away, but FGR, York, Barnet & Oldham look a safe top 4.

That Nick Haughtons a cracking player, love the way he has a dig at goal from wherever he is on the pitch, exciting player to watch.

According to him Flyde dominated the second half. But strangely he forgot to mention they were infact the better team in the first half. Easy to see why some turned against him at Pools ....fooking clueless.

I would say he is the best player in this league but in the wrong team. Something is wrong when a player with his ability is at the same micky mouse club for years despite being good season on season. I reckon he could easily play D1 if not the Championship.

What about Paul Smith - he was a class player for us. Didn't he follow Tubby to the Wendies?

Fylde were the poorer team overall, let's not forget we had a goal ruled out for offside as well, also didn't Mani hit the bar 1st half, one if their defenders hit their own bar 2nd half, their keeper had a few saves to make, our keeper had a very quiet game by comparison.

Didn't Fylde beat Barnet a few weeks ago. I noticed Altrincham had a decent victory over York last night.
I agree with Lennie, Fylde caused us problems expecially first half and on another night might have pinched it.
Oldham are quietly going about their business as well........dark horses maybe.

I think it would be daft not to play him.Yes we have won 2 out 2 but the clever managers still tweak when it's this obvious.

It was a tough match last night and disappointing to see so few at the game, however, there's definitely a bit more spark about the team. Barnet will help us to see where we are at.

What attendance were ya expecting like.
For a mid table non league team at £22 to get in the Vic.

If we shape up could get 5000+ new years day with a 1000 Oldham.

It was a 2 pairs of socks, dut and big coat night but great for watching football - no wind. Can't beat a night match for atmosphere if you're team is winning.

Not only that but there are up to three of us potentially watching it. Pools get a cut of that as well. If all home matches at whatever KO time were streamed for say people outside a certain radius of the ground that would mean even more revenue. All the SE Pollies would be chipping in as well. How many who are going to listen in on Saturday would buy a live stream, I reckon quite a few. So why not cash in on that.
Obviously it's not as good as being at the game but it's the next best thing.

Exactly, it was only a matter of time. Won't bother me as I prefer to give Pools the money.
I was offered the dodgy route but robbing the club that runs through my veins is not an option for me. That will probably sound daft to some but that's my stance and I'm sticking to it. End of.

It's called business, and there are plenty of competitors in the field - BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, TNT, DAZN, Amazon Prime... Do you expect to get into grounds for nowt as well?

And they work together to keep prices high, you can't watch all the PL games on Sky for instance you'd need to have Sky, TMT, and Amazon to get them all.
I'm just making a point, not condoning or condemning it, why would I expect to get until the ground for nowt?

was always happy to get complemantary tickets for games but i always paid my admission into the vic and used my ticket to just sit in and go into the players lounge post match. do not expect a medal but surely other true fans with the cash would do the same.

We're not forced to watch PL games on a subscription service - there's always the highlights on YouTube.

I don't think a tenner to watch one of our games live on DAZN is a high price - as long as you get what you paid for! Some of the money goes to Pools and their opponents and they do have their own production costs to cover. As others have said, paying nowt to watch is theft, however people want to dress it up.

its still cheaper for anyone over 15 to watch pools even if they walk to the ground and spend nothing but their admission fee. you do not get the atmosphere but that can be worth a miss if pools are crap on the day and losing. its given me more chance to see more games that i could never afford to see before live visual streaming started as the radio is really a very poor substitute for me.
