When he was at Pools,he never really got a run in the team while Watson,Eifion and Boydy were kicking about,he was as fast as they come but used to forget to run with the ball quite often, anyway what were Pools supposed to do...wait 4 years for him to become a good player and start scoring goals?

And his lass spoke very highly of him when I was chatting to her on the train!

Remember his shotgun goal celebration infront of The Town End?

Good luck to him. He seems to be having his Adam Boyd season-and-a-quarter.

But who was the last striker we had who came up with the goods over several seasons?

I disagree chip,Howard was another player like Easter who has come good after he left us,like i said can we afford to wait 4 years for a player to shape up and fulfill his potential?...it happens....a player who is shoyte for one team plays well for another.

For instance Joe Allon at Swansea and Brian Honour at Darlo...they come to us and end up legends....thats life eh.

Howards wasnt THAT bad when he was here, he was played out of position by three managers, but still got quite a good return

He got a dogs abuse, just like Baker did

In the first Holland pre-season tour, Easter scored 6 in the second 12-0 win. You could see his confidence grow as each goal went in and he looked good, albeit against inferior opposition.

Pools fans, perhaps fans of a lot of other clubs too, are very good at writing off players after having only seen them for a handful of minutes.
Even now, the likes of Muckles and Low are being written off by people who've probably never even seen them play.

The Rivals board, which was the only show in town at the time, was almost unanimous in condemning Mike Newell for renewing Easter's contract. This despite Easter coming on and almost single handedly turning the game round in the last match against Rushden.
I think Cooper released him because he had a problem with the lad's attitude when he took a deserved dressing down for lack of effort after one match.

anyone remember Easter's tackle ,no assault I think is a better word.it was one of the play off games, blackpool at home I think.we got hammered and he came on as sub and got sent off for going through the back of someone and putting him 6 foot in the air.

I remember it clearly.

It was the best moment of the two legs.

Wasn't it against their big striker Murphy or something who was about a foot taller than Easter as well

I remember it well too. Easter was actually really looking the part that day, for the little amount of time he was on the pitch.
