always laugh when the word re cycling comes up. its as if it was something invented by greenies a few years back. think we all remember jam jar collections at schools and getting a few coppers for any pop bottles we found. firms were set up years ago who would but paper off you and now there is a place in bradford who will actually weigh in your old clothes and pay you accordingly.

I reckon the most famous must have been the early WW2 drives for metal for the war effort, lots of decent railings went missing and aluminium pans were donated to allegedly build Spitfires.
However it was largely an exercise in involving the public in the war effort…most of the Georgian railings were dumped in the Thames estuary and Solent…and the aluminium in pans was not of aircraft quality.

Pulled up down North Gare this morning first thing at sunrise with the Hounds and you know those wonderful youngsters who condemn us all for not saving the planet…? Well….. they drove down in their cars and dumped a heap of fast food cartons all over the place, the bastards

Really good point this, recycling has been with us for ever. Speak to our grandparents or even parents, they threw nothing away. You bought something and you kept it. Unfortunately now everything is so much more disposable and single use, without that use actually being even necessary.
This country hasn’t got a clue how to recycle though. As a whole who knows what to put where, unlike many European countries where it’s not a big issue. Needs a big educational push.

One time we had educational adverts on TV pushing everything from road safety to not swimming too far out to sea….pity they couldn’t try it with a number of issues…good old constant repetition to drive the idea home….keep it simple….but it’s finding someone who wouldn’t turn it into a mini epic.

yes, everyone remembers things like the green cross code, wear something white at night, see and be seen and even clunk click for the right reasons. unfortunetly it would be too expensive to do now as they,d need actors of every sex, disability and colour to be in them and you,d think cecil b. demille had produced the thing in the end.

They appear to be unlike other gulls that scavenge.

"The kittiwake is our most sea-loving gull, only turning up inland on odd occasions and spending winter out on the Atlantic. A medium-sized, elegant and gentle-looking gull, it eats fish, shrimps and worms, and does not scavenge at landfill sites like other gulls. It nests in colonies on clifftops and rock ledges from February until August; there are 380,000 pairs in the UK."

Was down Seaton yesterday and today. Noticed the wind turbines were going great guns. Probably quite an upsetting sight for those offended by them. ;)

Er, do you subscribe to the following publications delivered in a plain envelope…

‘Wind Turbine Vibrationsl’…hot action in the water……

‘High Speed Climax’….enjoy the tension as the speed builds up…….

‘Thrusting Tips’ …. Hold your breath as the blade tips get pushy…..

‘ Come in my house’ ….as you welcome the surge of electricity from the rigid tips.

I’ll check out your DVD collection later

I quite like Wind Turbines. Can't understand people who say they are a blot on the landscape or sea.
Saying that though...I saw a vulture get hit by a blade in Cuba circa 2010....not nice. sadx

Well if you do you’ll be in for a treat then when Milliband’s finished… not forgetting all those lovely fields of solar panels glistening in the sun…probably why they’re pissing all the farmers off so they can buy them out cheap and cover them in lovely shiny solar panels….the futures bright providing the wind blows and the sun shines……..and the rest of the world carry’s on as normal while we virtue signal.

do not like any of them but more so out at sea. they look more natural in land and you do not notice them as much.

I went down this afternoon ……looked a bit tired today… thank god my car isn’t wind powered …one day breakneck speed…next day struggling to reach thirty… day after going nowhere at all…. I think the word is…unreliable.

it took the british car industry 70 years to design cars with an engine that were the same.
