That fa cup game was totally mental, one of those you look back on and can't believe they happened. If it happened nowadays there would be enquiries. Great game on the pitch as well.
The milk cup game in 1982 still goes down as one of the most exciting games I've ever seen.

Was at that game.
Brilliant atmosphere and worst violence ever seen at the Vic during all of half-time.
The Derby fans who thought they were clever going in the Millhouse Seats got absolutely destroyed.
Me half cousin Taylor scoring as well.
Got me n our kid complimentary tickets at Blackpool same season.
Be a shame if the Vic never rocks again.
Last time Rotherham in the EFL trophy.
Sad as fook were we are today.
UTP.

refuse to remember games like that as it makes what we are putting up with now harder to take. better to remember the crap as it will drive you mad if you don,t.

And they got a right kicking under the stand.
One shimmied down the drainpipe to get away from the fighting in seats,to be met with a lump of terracing.
Never seen anything like it

Nearly every team in this league is an identikit copy of each other, especially the ones down south, typified by a misplaced smugness.

Indeed, they stink!. I was also developing a new found respect for Jack and his work. Until that first week I had no idea of how vunerable they were.

The brother in law was down there with the RAF post war and told me how the pilots would fly the Harriers along past big groups of Penguins and they’d all follow the plane and turn their heads in unison…then turn round and fly back again and watch them turn their heads again, then fly out to sea to turn 180 and fly straight over their heads and as they looked up and all fell over on their backs, thousands of the buggers

We were relatively safe ashore and we watched Jack getting pummelled by their air force. I clearly remember the Antelope blowing up in the darkness and being thankful I as ashore. I have no idea how many of us the Navy saved with their various missiles but it was many. At a huge cost to them. Thank you guys.

I remember Ian Turnbull who was killed on HMS Coventry and it was proposed to name a ward or a street after him, but it never happened, various lame reasons given but Labour Councillors were honoured about that time having streets named after them …that really wound me up.

Snowy, you will be pleased to know that in 2022, Turnbull Inlet, a sheltered inlet running southwest off North West Arm in Port Albemarle, West Falkland was named in honour of Ian.

I didn’t know they’d started naming inlets. Nice touch.

I’m down that way next year, I’ve been to West Falkland but never that far South. I’ll pay a visit and leave an appropriate memorial.

I was.

Brian Moore was on "The Big Match" commentating on the Newcastle match on the Sunday, and said that the Pools game he was at yesterday was brilliant.

Not sure that he admitted that he went to school with John Smart though...
