Snowy, I can assure you I love the town and there are many people I love and respect who reside in it. I feel like Hartlepool or any town would be improved by the arrival of people that were described (non-rioters, well educated, hard working). Better still if there was an outflow of those lacking those qualities, of which many towns have too many.

Also, I too wouldn't label a huge group of people because of the action of a few fuck wits who just happen to be of the same town... or perhaps the same race or religion. Imagine the idiocy of anyone who would do that!

I have had these two under surveillance and can categorically say they are more like the " chuckle brothers " than the Krays. However dont let that fool you they are extremely dangerous and out of control.

if this board had been around 70 years ago anyone who disliked the monorchy would be looked upon the same as people who do not go overboard in welcoming immigration. you were forced down the party line for groups with protected status then as it still is now. you could put being a mouthy athiest in that group of dissenters as well who did not follow the so called norm or the norm the majority wanted.

There are another 11 months to fill up with this stuff - and I'm nominating August as "Pikey History Month".

These much maligned folk are never given the credit for their valuable contributions towards saving the environment. Their pioneering research into Tarmac thinning has been very good for the planet, producing pollution-busting drives with less than 2mm of the black stuff.

They are also world leaders in engineless transport methods, and unlike those useless dossers at Just Stop Oil, they can stop the traffic in an entire English county for the weekend during their annual summit in Appleby.

Their organic good-luck charms and clothes-drying equipment are also a key ingredient in their success at saving the world, which coupled with their uncanny knack of predicting the future makes them our best hope by far when it comes to saving the planet.

It is high time that we celebrated their outstanding contributions to our society, instead of misunderstanding this fine race of men, along with their wives, dogs, pigs, chickens and children.

A 'site' cannot normalise anything. It is the posters. If someone tries to normalise racism but they are countered by posters, equally free from censorship, who call this activity out for exactly what it is then there is a degree of abnormality to it. IF.

Whether this site permits racist comments is a different question.

one thing we all should never do is change our own opinions depending on the fashions of the day no matter what they are if well thought out. never pander to any race religeon or a persons own sexuality just for the sake of it or fear it offends. when you offend you can also offend someone with the opposite viewpoint if you say something just to feel in with the current crowd.

like everything there will be a book on that subject and a few self appointed experts about to further their cause.

This is what I feared. Two dangerous twins out of control could do a lot of damage and I would never forgive myself if I failed to give you the support required to stay safe from their dastardly vengeance.

Sorry can't quite make out what you are saying in the first paragraph but in answer to the second part, I suppose the issue is whose definition of racism is used to censor people's remarks. Seems to me much better if individual contributors challenge the content they belive to be racist and then the originator has the opportunity to defend themslves. The problem with demanding racist post are immediately deleted is that one man's racism is another man's fair comment. Also pretty arrogant and heavy handed of one individual to demand this site is run in the way that suits them rather than the majority who seem quite content with the way things are although to be fair I have not conducted a survey so it is possible i am mistaken.
