As one sided as I've seen this season, could have been 6 or 7, Aldershot looked completely out of ideas. That's how you play a home game - not the long ball hoping for 1-0 rubbish we got served up under Sarrl.

100%. Lovely autumn afternoon for a game of football and the first time in yonks that Pools didn't make hard work of winning at the Vic. Have to say though that Aldershot were very poor and Pools won most of the 50:50 balls - which is something else that hasn't happened in a long time.

Got my ticket for York and looking forward to it - we are more than capable of making a game of it. And anyone who couldn't see the signs of improvement on Wednesday night has pickled onions for eyes

We will most likely lose at York and no shame in that, the shame
Is how we pissed away the first ten games dropping points to utter shite or it could have been more of a top of the table clash

The highlights on You Tube shown some excellent football from Pools and Brad Young didnt need to make a save. Aldershot hade three shot all wide of the target. I accept the highlights can never show the full picture but that must the best Pools performance for quite some time.

When did they extend The Vic, I was at the Brackley game and it looked the same as before, must have been a very fastrack track rebuild.

From memory it was about 3,300 with 90-odd Aldershot fans.

Didn't look that many, I thought sub 3000.
Considering the absolute shite we've been watching the crowds are bearing up quite well.

might have been as there were a load of season ticket holders missing close to me. felt a real billy no mates sitting on my own with gaps in front and at the sides. smaller than usual crowds never bother me as usually you end up watching a better game and result when that happens.

york sold out now isnt it - always a good following regardless that fixture.

think most Poolies like me enjoy the day out in york before and after the game more than out else

Not been to their new ground - but a day out at KitKat Crescent was always decent - shame it's been moved out of town. Though that land must have been worth a small fortune!

Hopefully the break benefits us rather than halts us in our momentous tracks!

Given their form, York away is going to be a big challenge. Expecting a big atmosphere & a high-scoring game.

Got to say, it was a pleasure seeing some good football on the highlights (still not going while Raj is in charge despite an uptick in performances!)

fine to have principles but if they spoil a saturday afternoon at the match is it worth it in the long run as you and a few others will never change a clubs ownership.

I’ve got no problem with people going to the match or not. Well before this season you’d find plenty of people who stopped going though, which has accelerated this season. Never say never, I might go back but right now a couple of good performances doesn’t hide the fact that as a club we’ve got potentially existential issues.

Would also say it’s more than a few - hundreds if not a thousand plus have stopped going regularly. As stubborn as Raj is, he won’t enjoy the drop in income.

I was out and about today and overheard several conversations about the match. All were very positive and upbeat.

Seem to remember after John Bird left Pools to manage York in about 87/88, they had a spell over us. Don't think we beat them for years, though they did have a lengthy spell in the old Third division.

Also remember travelling from Hull on a Tuesday night for an FA Cup replay after drawing 0-0 at the
Vic. We lost 3-0 and I had to miss the last ten mins to get the train back to Hull. Think Houchen was Manager so would have been 96/97.The away end was packed and the stewards were a right bunch of arseholes.

My favourite game against York was our 2 nil Boxing Day win in 99- with Kevin Henderson scoring a blinding bicycle kick- which I think was our last goal at the Vic of the 20th century.
Sure Hangus also had a scrap with their mascot Yorkie the Cat.
