Apparently the tartan greens want to bring in a road charging scheme to reduce car usage on the roads…..That’s their tourism industry flushed down the pan then….

I vowed never to return to Wales after sampling their silly 20mph speed limits in 30mph zones last year - although I believe that commonsense has started to prevail following the exit of Drakeford. I was considering visiting Scotland next year but if this crazy scheme comes to fruition I will be adding another foreign holiday to the 2025 calendar.

How idiotic considering the fact that other than the cities the rest of the population are scattered far and wide where there's limited public transport.
Had to laugh at Lord Seb Coe yesterday on 5 Live demanding that the world takes real action on clean air and climate control when he was asked about thousands of athletes flying twice a week to various events across the world. Apparently athletes flying to 30 or 40 events must be cleaner than the likes of us going to the Canaries once a year!

That was back in April, The SNP and Greens are no longer in coalition and so I can’t see this going ahead.

Another victory for commonsense - quite rare these days!

Yes that was in May…but …."the SNP are talking with the Scottish Greens to enable them to get their budget through…and as of yesterday, tax hikes and a halt to key road projects are on the Greens agenda if Ross Greer and Co are to support the SNP budget.

Maybe explains why SNP kept their motor home parked up all the time. Can't get less car usage than that.

actually apart from the independance issue i think both are quite similar so it looks a good move. well for anybody not living in scotland or intending to visit anyway.
