Having just emerged from 4 weeks in JCUH, i can say its not broken but a crown in the jewels. I had a triple heart bypass with veins from both legs to make up 5 grafts.
The care and attention of the staff were outstanding from peoples from across the globe. God help if it was ever sold off
I dread to think what i had would cost im Merica

Crikey, you've done that the hard way Mr. Dykey - well done for pulling through. The staff at the James Cook heart unit really are all diamonds.
Make sure you don't lift anything heavier than a cup of tea for the next 6 weeks
And stay well away from the Vic

Seconded. I had one a decade ago and believe me when I tell you that full recovery is a year away. Make sure you gently build up your walks and surely it goes without saying; stay away from fags and chips.

I'd say most of the NHS works fine but too much time, effort, and cost on wokery and admin. Hope your recovery goes well and swiftly.
If you need any fresh air the Vic on Saturday should be OK and with nothing to get the heart racing or any excitement at all on offer should be the ideal convalescent environment.

Maybe not  frustration can have equally bad side effects.

There will be lots of space though, So no panic attacks, Unless we keep a clean sheet and "Uncle Darren" gets a reprive, God help us!

Aye you’re right there….. majestic herds of Wildebeest migrating across the vast empty wind swept town end terraces, frolicking in the open spaces, grazing on long discarded burgers as chimps swing joyfully on the roof beams and David Attenborough buys a season ticket to marvel at the sight.

It’s not the medical staff that’s the problem with the NHS they do a great job under the circumstances some working in ‘antiquated’ hospitals, it’s the non medical highly paid executives.
I had cancer treatment and I couldn’t fault any of the staff, the support was brilliant, what surprised me was how young most of them were more so the ones associated with scans etc, the radiologists and the ones who operated the radiotherapy machine.
The NHS are playing catch up, my mate is having a minor op a week on Sunday with an overnight stay involved.

Thanks, my GP initially refused to give me a PSA Test but on my insistence he did and a week later he called me in because it was higher than it should be which led to further test then the diagnosis. Some GPS are reluctant to do a PSA blood test because it can be inaccurate and lead to further uncomfortable tests like the prostate biopsy but unfortunately there is no other test available.
