I'd guess that chairman see a high profile name attracting better players and getting fans through the gate.
I'd always be looking for a role model as manager, someone you'd be proud to have your players emulate, more Neale Cooper than Joey Barton.
He's clearly not right in the head, look at his previous form.
I'm not going to name any names but someone who's committed one offence has had his career written off because of the nature of it. Barton is a serial offender and has beaten up kids, stamped cigars out in their eyes yet continues to get chances.
Just for clarity I'm saying Barton should have been scattered long ago not that others should be given another chance.

I mean one of the worst things he’s ever did was that French accent at Marseilles and that’s got lost in all the random acts of violence. Maybe Steve McClaren needs to beat the shit out of one or two or put out a Cigar in Casper’s eye so people stop thinking of him as a faux Dutchman.

Plenty of very intelligent people make stupid decisions, there is a difference between emotional intelligence and being clever.

What about Pete Doherty he is clearly intelligent but has made plenty of ropey decisions.

The more I learn about Warnock the more you realise how awful a man he is. Listening to the Undr The Cosh podcast has opened a few eyes. A lot of these managers like Warnock, Steve Evans and Redknapp are every bit as parasitic as the very worst agents. Chris Morgan basically said that when Colin fined players they had to give a cheque to him! Pay rises negotiated for young players with a percentage of his weekly wage being handed to him was another. Like a real life Fagan.

If you want to hate higher level football and Warnock a bit more have a read of this sordid (and tragic) affair.
