We haven't had to compete with quality opposition? Birmingham, Stoke, Fulham, Bolton, Hull and Wigan are all now in the Premier league, West Brom, Bradford and Reading have been there since and a few more are now decent championship sides.

Turner you're full of SH*TE rage
I want to see Turner go, .... but just what is your point...?

The point is that Turner says we've never had to compete with good opposition, in that season we finished 11th, just wanted to show an example of how much shite he's talking

A lot of the teams there have only been in the "top-flight" for a couple of seasons, and during this period the like of Fulham were just as rubbish as us. Were as the likes of Leeds, Southampton, Charlton and Norwich have fallen a lot in the last couple of years, but this is still no excuse they are in our division for a reason and we should aim to beat these teams.

but just because they are good now doesn't mean they were any good 20 year ago, thats a hell of a long time in football.

Same can be said for the sides that Turner says are quality now as well. Just because they were in the top flight a few years ago doesn't mean they are better than we are. Ask a Wimbledon fan. A lot of teams have been up to the top division and down at the bottom division over the years. i could understand the comment from him if we were in the Championship but the teams in our division are there for a reason so we should be looking to compete with them, not having our manager saying we're not good enough. I couldn't picture Neale Cooper when he was in charge saying anything like that.
If Chris Turner's in that frame of mind then he's in the wrong job

Mr Turner, playing the victim and constantly looking for excuses is not doing you any good whatsoever.

The vast majority of fans realise that the team is playing far below its potential, and that we're tactically clueless. And yes, tactics ARE important. Apparently you don't think so.

It was never personal - but it's becoming increasingly so with your comments. The fans appreciate 'what you've done for the club', but the fact is right now we have the most expensive squad in the history of the club, yet we haven't played well for months, our style of play is devoid of any spark whatsoever, and you personally have to accept a large part of the blame.

It's sad because you're now alienating the fans who previously had a lot of respect for you, and personally I think you've passed the point of no return. Unless something completely miraculous happens on the pitch, you will gain more resentment with each passing match you take control of.

I think the division IS as strong as we've seen it. Over a long period of time we are realistically not likely to compete with clubs such as Norwich City, Leeds United or Southampton. It was also likely, from day one, that those sides (Saints' minus ten start notwithstanding) would finish higher in the division than us this season.

None of that means these sides are unbeatable on any given day, and Turner would find he had a lot more fans behind him if we would spend less time talking up our next opponents and more time talking up his own players. Even if the results had been exactly the same, he would have more support.

clappp clappp Totally agree

The point is that all the teams who start a third tier season together are in there because that is their current level.
However some clubs are bigger than others, with bigger investment and support. It is therefore very unlikely that these teams will stay in the lower leagues for long.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that we can't compete with them while they are down here with us. That is the bit that Mr Turner can't get his head round.
We have competed in the third tier before, so why not now.
What is the point of being in this league if the club is forever bleating how bloody hard it is. Yet on the other hand they claim they want a crack at the championship. How difficult do they think that would be??????
I don't know why they don't adopt a more positive attitude. Maybe if they did adopt a more positive attitude, then they just might get a more positive response from the fans.
Why the hell should we be appearing to apologise to the other clubs in this league, just for being here.
Get stuck into them, ruffle their prima donna feathers and give it a go.

Hartlepool United were in the play offs 2 years running in this league and finished above the team HE managed at the time in 2003/04 - I bet that stuck in his fu-cking craw.
Oh yeah and Pools got in the play offs again the year after, while the team HE managed went down to L2 with less than 40 points.
He is shite, he has proved it back then and he is proving it again.

Which brings me back nicely to the question I am continually asking myself - Why was he allowed to come back here in the first place?
