can't agree muttley, even though i expected to hate the programme. thought it was excellent and showed the group in a decent light. difficult to say how much was staged but i thought it was moving and positive.

I dont think that. I really liked the character of that bloke with the shaved head, Scott. The amount of passion and desire he showed to get a job there - that's the Hartlepool I know and I love!!!

Also possibly shown that ageism is still a problem, only one who didn't succeed in getting employment was the over 50. Or am I just looking into to deep.

he only went in for 1 job and the younger lad was clearly the better candidate

Got to agree with Aido, I was dreading it a bit but I thought the people looking for jobs came across very well. Felt sorry for the older bloke as his age clearly counted against him.It will have been as staged as most TV is- I didn't like seeing everybody waiting for the phone call- but the producers chose to highlight the positives. Russ Green did the club proud.

The young lad Scott is my nephew, I had no idea he was on. To be accurate, he's my cousin's son whatever the legal definition is.

That show last week was in Scouseland and I forget the actual number that got jobs from it they did no where near as well as the guys from Hartlepool did.

While it is a shite reason for the town to be on TV at least the people who were being helped seemed genuine and did well. None of them had that I want to choose my job chip on their shoulder that lots of young unemployed people show on these types of programme either.

Scott has had his moments, he spent a month or two in Nottingham but it all went a bit pear shaped. I can't help thinking that inside theres a decent lad trying to get out. Jackie, his mother has been driven to distraction but its hard not to like the lad.

Have to say I feared the worst, but the result was fairly inspiring. Hopefully companies may finally wake up to the fact that we have some very spirited and resourceful people in the town. I also thought that Scott came over really well. Sometimes, all people need is a chance. Proud to be a Poolie clappp
