It looks good on the face of it but are they a paid part of the club or simply helping out as lifelong fans. I am sure they both have expertise within the commercial sense and have a lot to offer so why not if it means the club progresses in the right direction.
Expanding it a little, they both have been involved in successful businesses, virtually building them from scratch, so maybe they could be interested in getting involved financially and chucking a few bob in the tin. If Landon is embarking on a road of getting successful businessmen interested in helping in an advisory category with a view to investing then it is win win. I am not keen on committees but I have taken to that idea.
As well as that he is keeping us in the loop, thus fulfilling his commitment to keep the fans informed.
I have always believed that we need local born millionaires who are as fanatical as us involved, it looks like Landon is on that wavelength too.
raj wanted people like them to get involved in the club but sensibly they stayed away. goes to show we are in a better place off the field at least.
Problem might be that people might not want their name associating with failure on the pitch. We are being asked to be patient as the commercial side is being built that will presumably provide the revenue to build success on the pitch. Meanwhile revenue is potentially lost due to the fans patience wearing thin, causing them to drift away. It's a fine line and we are in danger of falling into a catch 22 situation.
At the start of the season nearly six thousand turned up, demonstrating their belief in Landon's vision for the future of our club.
Two thousand have perhaps already lost their patience. Only one thing will drive the attendance back up and that is success on the pitch.
We are having to wait while other aspects of the operation are improved. The big question is for how long.
