Strange that some people are insisting that Smith did nothing wrong. Fylde's first and second goals literally go straight through him. For the first he 'dives' and lands on the same spot he took off from.

Yeah sure, the defenders could have done better -which they were doing for most of the game. But when it comes to the 'last line of defence,' there isn't one.

Well if Merrick can avoid tripping over any daisies he should be able to play against Boreham so we should keep be able to keep the score respectable.

I knew our stonewall penalty just before half time would be deleted.

And I don't see an offside for Fyldes 1st goal.( wilds view)
Just piss poor defending n goalkeeping.

I hope this patience we been told to adhere to pays dividends because so far the results are no better than Clarkys.

It's a results business not sidespin comments or excuses.

Just hope Bwood don't target the left side of our goal.
Radio Tees expecting the same defensive tactics as Fylde which could be suicidal against a team who attacks for fun.

We need the keeper situation sorting because it’s a shambles.
We had the chance to sign a decent keeper who’d be OUR keeper and doesn’t come with strings attached and we keep paying the price for this masterclass in how not to run a piss up in a brewery.

I don’t think you can blame the keeper for any of them. I’m a keeper and all of those goals are defensive mistakes.

The keeper is part of the defence. They expect praise if they get a hand or a foot in the way of a goal-bound shot or header - that's their job. None of Fylde's goals were out of Smith's reach but his reflexes are shot. On top of which, he's useless at claiming crosses and it was down to the three big centre-backs to keep Fylde's corners out.

i,m an ex keeper also and think he might have done better but none of there goals were glaring mistakes by him. as for claiming crosses not many do unless they are straight at them ot hanging in the air for ages. more or less we are paying the wages of two keepers who are just not good enough in this league. any other position we,d be looking for a player of our own.

anybody else noticed that its rare for any highlights to show big talking points where match officials are concerned. a real protected species if there ever was one.
