Was that prediction before or after his speech yesterday? I think his honeymoon might come to an abrupt end.

Burnham is starting to make Starmer look tolerable… Burnham is polishing his ‘one of the lads’ profile to the limits….even Tony Blair kept him on the far sidelines.

A sample size of over 5500 people is all I needed to read to take that poll seriously. The map shows the North East as predominantly Labour, yeah that's going to happen.

No party will win a majority at the next GE and there's lots of Red Wall constituencies which were probably Brexit. To go for rejoining without a referendum would be political suicide. Then if we were to apply the EU would want assurances that it was the strong will of the population and wouldn't be reversed after another GE (experts predict it would take around a decade to get back in). There's also the fact that all 27 Member States would have to agree, we'd probably have to adopt the Euro, we'd probably have to fully join Shenghen scheme allowing free movement. We'd have to ditch most of our trade deals with countries not in the Union.
So 10 years with a fair wind, but the country would be in limbo and turmoil for years, we'd need more Civil Servants, politically we'd be hamstrung in terms of making any major decisions for years (as we were during Brexit negotiations and implementation) - all to get a worse deal than we had before.
If say associate membership or joining the Customs Union are far more likely or attractive.

For a start, we wouldn’t get all the opt outs we had before and find it a very different membership to what we had before….adopting the Euro for a start.
The Schengen Agreement would mean free movement of people, so we’d be obliged to take our share Europe wide and the channel hoppers won’t need their dinghy’s they’ll arrive on the ferry or fly in.
Burnham is gonna smile a lot like one of the lads and appeal to his core vote…..

the thing is they would be quite happy with all that to happen just for there own world view. just a small step closer for domination by the WEF aided by the WHO. we,ll get told as little as possible about the terms and scare mongerers will be thrown at those who are not totally behind the move. more or less we should never have left in the first place because there was nobody in power who were really interested in making brexit work in the first place. then we,ll get the reasons again for and against which will from the general public any ease getting through spanish customs and the flag shaggers bothered about the EU flag flying in place of the union flag.

Must've been a poll of people in central London.

it doesn,t matter where its from just compare the percentages to the number of seats. reform getting more votes than the tories but less seats and only 3% less votes than labour but with over a third the number of seats. if this is right then explain why it is when for years governments have got into power wiith less than a 50% support from the public. it foes not exactly get you out of the chair to rush to vote foes it when for the majority of the country your vote is a waste.

It's called disinformation, just ignore it, the simple truth is Labour has lost it's voter base in the area's of the country it once took for granted, people can see that they have taken votes over policies and they will be decimated in those areas at the next general election, these polls want you to think that your vote is wasted or pointless when it is not.

possibly under the currant first past the post system most votes are wasted. just look back at the 2024 GE results where the labour vote was up by under 2% and reform had the same percentage more votes than the liberals but got nearly 70 seats less. i must be thick as this makes zero sense to me.

Only trouble with other systems is do you have a local MP and the candidates will be on a Party list selected by the Party, not the people, because we’d only be voting for a Party, not a representative.
You might find some unelectables in power because they’re popular with the Party’s but not the electorate.

not sure there are many good local back benchers anymore where people voted for them even if they did not like the party they represented. its the age of the personality politician where its not a vote for a local candidate or even that party. its a vote for its leader like some form of presidential election. its not as if the candidates are all local to the area they represent anymore and there first visit to th area is after they were selected.

You could ask why are all these Labour MPs and particularly backbenchers so sympathetic to vain causes abroad and the benefits of the few?, they've chosen their side and blatantly it doesn't represent the majority of the people who voted them in, they don't seem to care about the countries rising debt, benefit reform, the safety of it's own people, punishing decent people over the obvious criminals and taking money from the people who've been careful all their lives and giving it to the wasteful, I could go on but if you don't get it by now you're already lost.

There are very few MP’s with character to have their own opinions and the vast majority are just nodding dogs who will always put the Party’s welfare over their constituents welfare because they’re pathetic, lacking courage or character.
Party first, Electorate and Country of secondary importance.

lets say they are a breed on there own even at local council level. they live for any minority and ignore the wishes of the majority. know a local councillor who lost her seat and is really bitter about reform whose candidate ousted her. nothing wrong to say about the policies they have at westminster, starmer, green policies, cost of living and burnham is the lancastrian savior on his white charger. criticise them and all she says is do not believe what you read. i do not as i hardly watch there propaganda arm the bbc nonce factory or read the guardian.

Ask yourself why the government in cahoots with the BBC are desperately trying to find a way to extort the licence fee from the general public, this wouldn't happen with any other organisation, they'd even step aside and watch major banks go under but not their propaganda machine. Mind you Ch.4 and ITV have been got at too. Watching insufferable goons like Fiona Bruce gaslighting on her QT show turns my stomach now. Hence I don't watch it, also hate all of the 'celebrity' shows too, lining the pockets of the 'yes' brigade who tick all the boxes.

Was on the news that some people get 27k a year on benefits.
The same as a worker on 33k - 6 k tax - full council tax.

So they Gunna get the lazy n immos votes.

Which means Labour could get voted back in.

Then don't rule out income tax going up 33p in the pound. For workers to carry on subsidising this shit.

French style Retaliation on the way.

Gunna be a close call this next G E.

Burnham is already betraying his core voters, promised that Brexit wouldn't be revisited when he was canvassing in Makerfield. Yet now he's decided that the majority of the country want to rejoin the EU. I'm not sure how our democracy has evolved to the point that this dictator without a mandate is leading the country.

Is it not troubling to people that this government would rather the country went down the pan to keep it's dillusional voting base than to make decisions that benefit us for once, that's just how treasonous they have become, there's hardly a day passes now without them making decisions which exacerbate the problems we now face in this country. It's so demoralising.

All part of the WEFs globalist agenda.
Btw, what's with Miliband approving oil drilling and production off the Falkland Isles but they're not allowing it on our doorstep?

Burnham wants electoral reform. Here's a clue for you Andy. Start with legislating that only people in work, retired from work or legitimately unable to work are eligible to vote. You can add that immigrants can apply for voting rights after a reasonable probation period of at least ten years. We can't have people refusing to work having a say in how to tax working people and how to spend that tax.
Never heard of "he who pays the piper, calls the tune".

Labour the party that keeps on giving while shafting our own, if you work, have savings, a pension, a house, etc they'll take it and give it to the lazy, the illegals, Ukraine and other countries to fund ongoing wars, etc
Zelensky will be leaving with more financial aid and Healey will claim there's another black hole in the economy 2 years after Reeves said record taxes had to be imposed to plug the last black hole, she also said that their policies would ensure her measures were a one off.
You can bet your life they're feathering their own nests and protecting their own futures while stealing ours.
The country is absolutely fecked.

The reality is that the EU as a block had huge negotiating power and used it to punish the UK for having the temerity to leave, and as an example to other Euro-sceptic countries. To think that we'd get a great welcome back and a deal anywhere near what we previously had is naive in the extreme. It's worth bearing in mind also that even though the UK economy is struggling, it's out-performing every EU member state so re-joining would probably make things worse. Can we afford 5 years or so of negotiating re-entry over shadowing all other governmental issues and causing a huge rift in the country once again?
Burnham has no mandate to try to rejoin, he has no mandate to change the triple lock, if he wants to do either he should go to the country. But he won't, he knows he's been promoted way above his ability and he's surrounded by a cabinet of idealists and liars, most of whom don't and never have lived in the real world.
It's not the electoral voting system so much that needs reform, it's more the whole Parliamentary enclave need to go back to the roots of the system and stop all this party first nonsense which is ruining the country. Every vote in Parliament should be a free vote, and MPs should recognise that losing the whip shouldn't stop them doing what's right to serve their constituents and their conscience. (Not likely I know, Politics like football is all about money nowadays. The days of conviction politicians have been replaced by convicted ones).

if you have a mind of your own and tell it to everyone you will not last long in politics or get a foot on the ladder to gain real power. on top od that you,ll get a name, a rebel MP. not because you are a wrong un or fail the voters who put you in power just because you have a mind of your own and cannot follow the leadership on an issue. you then lose your whip, a bloody stupid name for vote anyway, so your constituants then have zero say in parliament.

lets face it for the majority of seats whats the point of naming the candidate, just put the party name down especially if all they will do is to tow the party line and sod those mugs who voted for them. mugs whichever party they represent.

Pity we can’t take political Party’s out of politics and every MP was an independent….elected by a constituency to work for the constituency.
At present, MP’s loyalty is to the Party, not the constituents….democracy…? Nah!
Most MP’s are just nodding dogs waiting to be told what to vote for, they’re not there to think under the present system.

Marine Le Pen lead is in increasing in thr polls, she has said she will slash contributions to the EU, oh dear what will all the rejoiners make of that eh..
