Surely Zippy finds his voice.
Maybe Geoffrey can help him.

If Landon is also taking in the Tamworth game, I wonder if he is going to use the time between now and when he returns to the States to get tough to protect his investment.
I would hope so.

Not really bothered about anything said or not said, at the end of the day he's not going to criticise either Clark or anyone still at the club, nor will he promise the earth, or disclose the financial state of the club.
I just want to see change which means we may start picking up points.

Is there anyone else outside Bromby that Landon can or will listen to, tbh I think a few members on here could offer better advice to Landon than Bromby more so their last choice for a manager.

At the very least you'd like to think there'll be interviews to replace Clark this week and an appointment made.

Whether anything more substantial happens looks unlikely. If LS dumps Bromby & Partners, who does he bring in to oversee his investment in the club? At the end of the day he's just a football fan who lives nearly 4,000 miles from Hartlepool and has his main business to run.

He must be fuming at the way things have turned out. Pools have gone from notional promotion contenders to a relegation struggle in just over a month. Will anyone have the guts to tell him promotion is off the table for another season?

Anybody who is interviewed this week who isn't an arse-licker desperate for a job will tell him that there's a lot wrong with the squad and more money is needed to put it right. Maybe B&P will make sure only arse-lickers are interviewed!

Let’s hope we don’t get offered a coach with ‘North East’ connections…please
I reckon we’re lumbered with the present set up…..better check the stores in the lifeboats then.

The problem is that millionaires are surrounded by arse-lickers, it's the nature of the beast. Hopefully Landon will take a more hands-on approach as a result of the disastrous start to the season and employ someone that is rather more trustworthy than Maxwell and the Bromby losers.

To take only 3 points from 27 and the big man is still letting it drag on.
Tells me he can't afford to off load BnP.

We won't automatically surge up by hope n luck.

We need some urgent action or the Promotion objective could become from the NLN next season.

I agree Joe. The sooner he gets a grip of the situation the sooner we'll be going in the right direction. It is entirely up to him. This time he has to get it right.

Nicky Featherstone was at the game - probably sat in the Director's box. That will have been an interesting conversation

It’s like the Titanic analogy…but in our case the Poolie Titanic has struck the iceberg but stays afloat….and instead of leaning from it, decided to carry on crashing into icebergs.

He is from Hull, he was there for 15 years as a kid, now a development coach there, I doubt he would leave a job in his home town with a secure future ahead.

Featherstone is history, time to move on and stop hangers on to the wreckage of the past…which was never inspiring and based on not getting beaten, but not enough winning and sitting in this league.

he will not be the only ex player at the game plus a few others sniffing around looking for work. with positions regularly available at pools appointing someone who had job centre experiance might help.

Fev was probably invited as a guest for the Harrogate game given that he played for both clubs.
I'm not sure why people are expecting LS to comment when his delegates B&P have been doing that. They told us the search was on for a new manager and they told us who's got the job. There's no way in the world anyone is going to publicly say they've got things wrong, or point fingers at individuals.
Very few club owners are issuing statements about the inner workings of their clubs regardless of if they're successful or if they're in the shite, why would we be any different? We're still getting the regular updates on the playing side and the injuries so it's hardly a communication blackout.

But which club chairmen actually do that? It's generally left to the manager / coach or their spokesperson to thank the support. I think the only time you'll get the direct plea for support or thanks from a club owner is when the club is in the verge of existence.
Fans are taken for granted like it or not at every club, hence the high cost of going to matches in this country, the iver-priced merchandise, catering, bar facilities etc.

Back in the day I took my three kids with me and on reflection would think twice doing that at today’s prices.
I always paid on the gate for years because basically a holiday or season ticket came at the wrong time but eventually did become a season ticket holder in the early 2,000’s.

do not mind the admission cost but its the lack of paper tickets that gets me. hate having to ask favours of people printing one off for me. as for food, drink and items from the club shop none are necessary to watch your club. only the gate money is. know kids want drinks and crisps etc but a carrier bag containing them worked for me for years plus my trusty flask.

My problem with this is I don't rate Bromby et al and want them away from the club. I don't understand why the Chairman keeps showing faith in them, and I suspect you aren't a fan of them and their record so far either. If their contribution so far was making a positive impact on our progress then I would probably think differently.
Landon set the tone when he arrived and was happy to communicate and openly stated that it was important. Now, as far as I'm concerned, because things are less than beautiful he is appearing to be hiding behind the likes of Bromby. That is how I see it.
Nothing has been said on here that encourages me to have a rethink.
I want to hear what the organ grinder has to say not the monkeys, especially the monkeys who, so far, haven't impressed me one little bit. Landon might be taken in by them( although god knows why) but I'm not.
Let me offer a conspiracy theory for you to ponder on.
Could it be that Landon's silence is indicative of his opinion on the story so far and he is annoyed with what has happened as much as we are and, because he is embarrassed by it all, he is keeping his powder dry and refraining from pouring oil on troubled waters by soft soaping bullshit.
It would take a man of great eloquence and an obvious master of bullshit to make something sound positive out of the position we find ourselves in.
I want Landon and my football club to succeed and have had my fill of being the butt of jokes. He and only he can sort the job out, due to the obvious inadequacy of his minions. That being the case, as a lifelong supporter of the football club, I would like to hear his take on the situation and a little bit of an insight into what he sees as the answers.
I don't see that as too much to ask and, judging by the comments of others, I'm not the only one.

I think embarrassed is the word for it, imagine going back home, his mates asking how’s that little old football club doing you bought ? One word sh**e, why because I put the club in the hands of people who convinced me they knew how to run a football but have never done so before. WTF Landon why did you do that, it’s like asking some one to fly a plane who has never flown one.

Personally I'd prefer it if we had a CEO, Director of Football, and manager rather than Bromby but that's his call.
And, given that he's delegated the overseeing of the football matters to them then I simply can't see him issuing any statements regarding their performance. "Praise in public, chastise in private" is generally good management.

If he has given Bromby the reins why haven’t they issued any statements re Clark departure and how they are going to move forward ?

They did, they said he's gone, they were seeking a replacement, and they've appointed him.
They're not going to say "we fecked up in appointing Clark" nor "Clark was shite, or not up to the job" are they?
I think all the talking we're going to get will be from Pete Wild and he's giving almost daily updates.

The point is PTID how long would they have given Clark before they sacked him knowing if they did he would be entitled to compo and it would have been admitting they made the wrong choice, Clark got Bromby out of jail by resigning.
What about Clayton and Liddle albeit he was at Pools before. Bromby hasn’t issued a statement what their roles are now at the same time the clubs ‘who’s who’ still has Clark the manager and the other 2 as assistants.

This. It's not peculiar to Hartlepool, it's how the football industry operates.

He doesn't have to discuss anyone's performance though does he. No one is asking for a public hanging. There are ways and means of doing things.
It is obvious to all and sundry that whatever the current Modus Operandi is, it is not working very well. Landon has to find a way of putting that right.
He also has to find a way of communicating his thinking to the fans. You are fond of actions speak louder than words. Well Landon's actions so far is to keep the current failures in charge and go as far as communicating through them. Those actions tell their own story. Yanks generally don't usually back losers.

I think we all agree that something better than Bromby is a given. So Landon has to either follow that path or explain why not as far as I am concerned, that's if the fans mean to him and the club the way he has explained they do.

That doesn't mean it's right or we have to agree with it, and, once again I will say no one is asking for statements saying Clark was shite or any of the other nonsense.

Pete wild is not under scrutiny and up to date comment from him is very welcome.

The fans part of the football industry is to go along with successful periods as they occur and to worry when they don't.
Worry leads to questions and speculation about the direction their club is heading and it is not difficult to understand their raised eyebrows when their owner preaches communication and engages in it personally and then goes silent when the job is going tits up and relies on the people that caused the tits up to carry on titting it up and even using the titting upperers to do the sorting of the crisis and deal with the communicating which the owner was only too pleased to do when he wanted us to pack the park.

Unless I've missed something.

Then why have we not been told how long Is Wildys Contract.
A little article on the Official Website is all it takes.

Obviously the few Superfans who put up with shit won't be bothered.

But if we were 22nd and only took 3 points from 30 under Sing or Coxall then everyone would be singing their disgust of the same hym sheet.

Words eh

Then why have we not been told how long Is Wildys Contract.
A little article on the Official Website is all it takes.

Obviously the few Superfans who put up with shit won't be bothered.

But if we were 22nd and only took 3 points from 30 under Sing or Coxall then everyone would be singing their disgust of the same hym sheet.

Words eh

I don’r care anymore, the waves of disillusionment can break over me, it’s like we are watching a train set with a loop the train just goes round and round and never gets anywhere no matter how fast it travels… we need a set of points adding to the loop with a line going somewhere else…to any sort of success… just for a fecking change.
Have to go Ratboy’s caught a wood pigeon in the garden….. :?

know times change and older you get they are harder to take but pools have been poor on and off the pitch many times in the past but for me this feels a lot different. feels mike another team we are discussing and not pools.

Could it be that for years the hope and expectations have been a lot lower and so underperformance wasn't such a kick in the nuts in comparison to the start of this season when hopes and expectations for most were higher than for years and the underperformance has been staggering?
Fine words from the hierarchy and players are meaningless, it's performances and results that count. I'm sure a turn around in results would silence most of the demands for statements from the owner.

exactly. when you see a victory with a good game on top the last thing on your mind are statements and funnily enough the less quickly you feel likely posting on here.

Obviously but until or unless that turn around takes place or even the signs that it is taking place people will react and that reaction takes many forms and looking for assurance and communication from the owner is part of the reaction.
If the situation we are faced with hadn't happened there would be less or even no reason for astonishment at the stance the owner is taking.
I find it amazingly strange that you use the words "the underperformance has been staggering", and I agree entirely with that description, yet you aren't remotely interested in what the owner has to say about it. His words might be meaningless but I will judge if they are when I read them.
However meaningless you think a communication from the owner will be, I'll bet a pound to a pinch of pigeon shit that you will read it nevertheless, always assuming he has the courtesy to write them.

The problem is we are not seeing victories with a good game on top are we.
We are sitting in the worst position in our history.
And that is prompting people to look for a response from the owner.
I can assure all and sundry if the day dawns that we are sitting on top of the league or even in the play off positions I will not be asking the owner for a statement about it.
FFS.

It’s like a submarines hull…the further down you go, the hull starts creaking under the pressure, things start popping like bulbs until suddenly eveything collapses and flattened……we’re heading for the popping bulbs stage.

How can you criticise a statement you haven't read????? By all means take the stance of not bothered about one, that is your choice but don't try to justify that stance by making up what the statement might or might not contain.
We are in the worst position in our history and we have an owner, who advocates communication and readily activated it when he arrived, and then, when we descend into the worst position in our history, suddenly goes silent.

The bottom line is that club chairmen are really only answerable to the shareholders or owners, LS is not answerable to us.
If and when he makes a statement is entirely his choice and that's been the case for years at our club and most others. I don't recall much from Raj himself, Coxall, Sudbury, or even IOR.
We don't even know where LS prioritises HUFC in his businesses. I'd say it's not top given he's rarely here and he appointed B&P.
At the end of the day, some want statements from him, some are not bothered about the fact that he's not saying anything, it's the Bunker. Let's hope results do turn around and we can focus on talking about the actual football.

All that is true and nobody, as far as I can see, is disputing any of it but it absolutely highlights the need for us to push our case for more information. We are not asking for personal involvement of Landon's private affairs and what other chairmen/owners have done is totally irrelevant to this discussion.
When you use words like "we don't even know" it actually underlines the problem.
We are not asking for the earth here. We are worried that we are in the worst position we have ever been in and instead of even making an attempt to allay any fears that we might have, the owner remains silent. That is the sort of behaviour that fuels speculation and rumour and also fuels disagreement amongst fans.

I'm still not sure how any words of reassurance can be any better than the statement arrival of Wild and Conlon. Wild will certainly not be a cheap option and not will Conlon, I don't think either of them would have come to a club that they thought would be relegated, in Conlons case I'm sure he'll have taken advice about the club from DC who we all know is a straight talker and won't have given him any bullshit, more likely to have warned him off if there was anything to be concerned about imo.
I'm also mindful of LS's first statements after buying the club when he said "we'll have a real go at the play offs and have fun doing it" - neither of them came anywhere near to what actually happened.
I agree communication from LS is not great but his delegates, the manager, coaches, and players are still communicating.
Does anyone subscribe to an e-programme, is there a Chairman's section there that sheds any light?

A new management team had to be appointed after Clark resigned and it was.
No one knows the details of their contracts.
So whether they are cheap or expensive is an unknown.
What their financial cost to the club is unknown, the length of their contracts is unknown.
So you are simply speculating there. All we know is they are here.
We also know the people who presided over our present situation, the worst position in our history, are still here.
Why the owner still has faith in them is unknown, although they might be under contract, which is also unknown.
If the truth was known there isn't much that isn't unknown.
I'm glad you are warming to the idea that communication from LS is not great, which is the focus of mine, and others, concerns.
Regular communications from the Manager or his representatives are common practice and are generally concerning team affairs. Not asking for any more than that. It happens whether the owner is silent or vociferous. I haven't met anybody who wants to hear from Bromby.
Whether the new management team will be successful or not is a wait and see. Another unknown. I sincerely hope it will but it can't be held up as successful until it is successful. I wish them all the best.
