We'll do really well..................for the first twenty minutes and we might even score but then the shit will hit the fan. Harrogate will have a comfortable win. The number they score will depend on if Fisher plays.

This match will be the football equivalent of going for some unwelcome medical procedure …you ‘ll be dreading the run up to it, there’s no anaesthetic and the closer it gets the bigger the dread factor….and the procedure can not be avoided…….and the after effects have no pain killer.

I can't remember the last time we had a game coming up against a National league level team where I've thought that we haven't got a cat in Hells chance of getting a result. But with Clayton and Liddle in charge who haven't got a clue and are now just waiting to be paid off I reckon we're going to get tonked. Again.

Probably the easiest three points Harrogate will get all season against a team bereft of confidence, short on skill and led by people who don't know what they're doing basically. Would expect Betty's boys to put three or four past us.

long term a hammering could cause ,more problems with a rush for anybody to take the managers job on. only thing that can save pools is that they have the same number of body parts as they have.

I'm expecting Clayton and Liddle to be drumming a "no mistakes" message into a team intent on parking the bus in the hope of a clean sheet - in other words "throwing the towel in" and hoping for a low scoring defeat at worst and a brain numbing, lucky nil nil at best.

Fear is always the best incentive of all.

Being a horrible bastard is t in the modern day coaching manuals, fear has been overtaken by the compulsory "positive reinforcement" so we're not likely to see another Cyril Knowles ever again. You've got to wonder how so many in the game get all the coaching badges possible but can't manage people!!

Coaching badges are all very nice…but on the business side of the game they are confetti… the primary skill of a manger is to manage ( in all walks of life) and the skill to judge players for what they are, not what their image trumpets them to be.
If someone can’t manage people and get the best out of them, all the coaching badges in the world will count for nothing.

Shankly, Ramsay, Clough, Busby, Ferguson, to name a few of the most successful managers in history but not a coaching badge among them. Progress eh?

I agree that I've never known confidence or indeed pride be as low as it is at present - especially so with it still being comparatively early in the season - but full credit to Messrs Clayton and Charman for their positive demeanor and encouraging words following the latest drubbing. I was looking forward to tonight's fixture pre-season - it was good to see Betty's Boys returning to Hades following their brief sojourn in the big boys league and I fully expected the new look Pools side put 3 or 4 past them in front of a very decent crowd that Harrogate fans can only dream of.

As things stand it is quite likely going to be the opposite, Pools being dicked by an average Harrogate side in front of Landon Smith and a piss poor crowd at the Vic. Hopefully 'Magic Harris' (our only hope Obi-Wan Kenobi) can bag a goal or even a brace. Maybe the revived Charman will contribute too -I'm not even going to to refer to our other 'strikers' by name nor any other players with the exception of McNally.

I know I am living in hope but Harrogate have conceded more goals than pools in fact you have to go down to 18th before a team has conceded as many, so heads up lads and go at them.

that was easy like it was easy for him when he took over the club. he could do nothing wrong because he was not singh and could just sit back and take the applause. now the chips are right down we will see what he is made of either a saviour who has hit his first problem or another con artist.

The Martin Scott relegation season- should never have been relegated that season. Suppose that doesn't bode well for this current season. However Danny Wilson got a tune out of them the year after- so appoint the right manager (one that actually knows what he's doing) and we still could bounce back.

So many solid teams in the NL with nowt like our budget and smaller squads who regulary finish near the top eight because they have a manager who knows how to organise a team and play to a system. Why cant we attract that type of manager?

In my opinion Landon needs to release a statement TODAY - at least an interim one, not wait until he's about to scarper off back to the US of A. The fans are crying out for information, clarification and a positive statement may increase the attendance by a few hundred. The players would surely also benefit by hearing the Head Honcho's views in respect of the dreadful slump that has occurred since he was last in town. If its not positive news then let's hear it anyway, anything is better than the stony silence that is pervading over the club like a heavy raincloud.

Long information black outs seems to be the Hartlepool way. Happened when Raj was in charge and is happening now. Come to think of it, in spite of all the pre season optimism, not a lot has changed from the fan's point of view since Raj left.
