Honestly just get this guy out now and save the season. Completely clueless, and talks utter rubbish.

“Strikers need to be more clinical” - they get maybe 1 or 2 actual chances per game. Even Haaland wouldn’t score goals in this team the strikers are completely frozen out of the game because our midfield can’t do anything but punt it and smash into people.

“40 years in football” - fair mate, I’m sitting here from my mother’s basement as I type this, but I don’t count spells in Oman and Sudan as football because let’s face it, it’s Sunday league. And being a player is different to being a manager, and you’ve not had one lick of success anywhere.

“We reiterate what gave us a fantastic pre-season and 6 points from 6.” - what, you told Nolan he needs to bang one in from 25 yards? We only won the initial game at least because our strikers instinctively came up with a bit of magic.

“People weren’t talking about signings at the beginning of the season”. - well maybe you need to wash your lugs out pal. Anyone with a brain could tell you a midfield of Sheron, Hunter and Miley wouldn’t work. There’s not one ounce of attacking quality in any of them, and making Hunter our captain should’ve been a sackable offence.

Overreaction? Maybe. But the truth is we’re going nowhere with this guy and his tactics. No insight into what’s actually going wrong and why, just “we need strikers to score more” “we need to be more aggressive” “we need to score more from set pieces”. Sorry, but that doesn’t work in modern football Lee unless you’ve got Wrexham’s budget.

Is it only me who thought he spoke calmly and sensibly in that interview, sounds like he may be prepared to give Thornton another shout and if we get McKeown, Charman, Eccleston, Hampson and John back fit we may see a change in fortunes, we didn't deserve to lose against Eastleigh and if Gibson hadn't messed up in defence we may have got a point too the other night. It's a little concerning that we don't look like a side who'll score many goals at the moment but things can change quickly in football as we all know.

Anutha fair assessment (but will no doubt get a superfan saying it's to early to be concerned n pissed off)

Ye 2 bits off individual brilliance for the Barrow win not set up from midfield and a missed penalty got us off to a cracking start.

Good fans hope n good manager talking has not produced anything for the last 3 games.

First n foremost we need to retain the ball longer to have a little chance to provide for our forwards.
Clarky goes on like we've signed 4 Harry Kanes.

Utilize them with decent service then.

Probably the worst ball retention ever seen the other night.

Budget done so anutha formation is the only solution.

It's Ellish being a Pools Fan innit

He was talking about Thornton. No one had heard of him until last week, why are we relying on an 18 year old who’s played 1 game? We signed how many players? And not one of them was a first team midfielder. Shambles

A bit like splashing out on four new tyres for your car but only buying three..unless we’re the Reliant Robins of football.

Fans panel on Tees last night.
Poolie Bernadette said the same thing.

Also a clip from Clarky interview that we don't necessarily need to use the loan market as the squad is good enough to turnaround this bad spell.
Also mentioned the injuries which some fans will buy as a good excuse and some won't.

Time will tell.

The longer you let a problem linger that problem becomes bigger as the league table and lowest goals scored in this piss poor division shows.
Hope and bullshit Dosent solve the problem.
Only positive action does.

agree about the eastleigh game that ended up 10 v 12 on the pitch but we got what we deserved at the shay. second best in all departments apart from the keeper. ok we had 5 out who might have started, but again we do not know what his starting 11 will be. its obvious we are going to have a season of clarkball to watch which is no improvement on the durge of last season. if we cannot hold the ball and pass to a man 15 yards away then how are we going to play a ball to a striker who should score. so far really we do not actually know the strong point of the game the new strikers actually have.

its the goals scored column thats why we are where we are. thats the most difficult thing to change down at our level unless you have a wrexham type checkbook. obviously we do not want a kneejerk reaction to the season so far but neither do we want things ignored and him having a full season in control before the subject is brought up. we might be a laughing stock with managerial sackings but apart from 2 they all deserved it at the time of the boot.

We've got to give Clark time to try to turn things around, what's the alternative sack him and give another manager 5 or 6 games then sack him if it doesn't work out?
LS has shown he's ruthless enough to replace Fev as manager even though there was a lot of support for him from the fans and Sir Jeff. I'm sure he's set Clark targets to meet and if he doesn't meet them he'll be looking to replace him.
The stats so far indicate we're not scoring enough goals or creating enough chances, imo that isn't entirely down to the CM, the wide players aren't creating enough either.

What do people expect Clark to say pre match?
"We're shite, I'm shite, the club is going nowhere" - every managerial press conference at all levels should be taken with a skip full of salt.
Remember last season's with Fev telling us pre-match that every opponent was going to be a big test and making them out to be world beaters?
It's what happens in the pitch that matters not the bullshit pre or post match.

Wishful thinking but maybe give a bit more. Has he and his team looked at where our tactics are going wrong, what especially? Saying we need our strikers to be more clinical when they you can count the amount of times they touch the ball on one hand makes him look like an idiot.

Featherstone was also not good enough as a manager, coincidence?

It’s true that what matters is what happens on the pitch. And we’ve seen from the first 5 games that Clark doesn’t have a clue what’s going on, which tracks given his credentials include managing in Sudan and Oman.

Pools have got 6 more league games to play this month, plus a National League Cup game with Everton U-21s. :o

Pools haven't faced any of the division's fancied sides this season, nor any in the current top 7 apart from Sutton. That doesn't change till we play Harrogate at home on the 29th, so Lee Clark has got plenty of time to turn things around and get some decent results against average sides.

On the other hand - we'll be a quarter of the way through the new season when we play Betty's Boys. If we're still struggling at that point a new manager will already have his work cut out to get us into the play-off hunt.

The fixture list is a gift to Clark, he HAS to take advantage. One thing I'll have money on is that Pools will sign at leat one player on loan. Having to play so many games in a short time is brutal, but it's the same for every team in the NL.

pre internet all you heard from the manager is what you read in the programme or in the mail. everyone sees the game differently and the players. take results out of it and the popularity of all managers depend on the type of football they play and how close they are to you and your views of the game. what fans hear is what managers think they want to hear anyway and it could be a long way from the truth ot the truth in how they see it themselves.

It just amazes me that some fans seem to be wanting Clark to publicly blame and shame individuals which never ever works in football. And to advertise their team, formation, and style of play before a game.
Win, lose, or draw there's rarely anything in their interviews worth listening to.

Not asking him to give a full breakdown of his “tactics”. But his lack of insight into interviews combined with the lack of any semblance of style of play on the pitch suggests he actually doesn’t know what he’s doing. He could at least say something like “yeah we’ve not got the ball to our strikers enough because of XYZ”. Saying “the strikers aren’t clinical enough” suggests that they’ve been spooning countless chances a game when the only time they see the ball is when it’s sailing over their head.

its just part of there contract they have to do by speaking to the media. fills a few minutes of your life where you learn little if anything. if he and the woking manager both advertised everything about there game i doubt the result would be much different. neither team are going to produce much of a difference in whats been seen already.

He's right about the strikers not being clinical enough although that isn't the entire issue as we all know. Popov, Hughill, Harris, and Nolan have all failed to convert chances you'd expect them to put away.

The alternative should be bringing in a proven manager at this level (or any relevant level for that matter) and giving them time. Eg Maynard. Clark hasn’t shown anything since 2012 for us fans to get behind and back when we are having a tough spell, obviously there’d be some who’d act the same way if we were having a spell like this under someone like Maynard but a lot of fans me included would be more inclined to think he’d turn it around given his success at this level recently.

Personally, I’d just like the midfield sorted out, then things might improve.
The rest is froth.

Let's not forget Bondo's comedy header on Tuesday. It would have been easier to score than do what he did with that very decent ball into the box. (his header was so bad that I almost spilt my cup of tea).

All Clarke can do pre match is to big it up and describe that we need to be more clinical. He can't address the problem that the midfield is not up to the task in this league. Everyone knows that we have signed some decent players at this level but without a progressive no nonsense midfielder it means nowt. We all know that but that's his job, sort the midfield!!!
