I did wonder if we might be in for him, after Hugill signed, as he was another released by Rotherham and LC will obviously know all about him. It would certainly show some intent and ambition getting him in as well.

His biggest assets were his pace and work ethic, even if he's lost a bit of pace he'd terrifying a lot of NL defenders.
Clark should have a good appreciation of both Hugill's and Watmore's abilities and motivation. Would show a fair bit of I tent if we do get Watmore too, both dropping from div1 and neither are really old.

it actually shows clark in a good light having the ability to sign players from a club he as only at for five minutes and what experiamced players think of him. it hard to imagine either not being an upgrade on the last two oldies we signed, oliver and madine.

To bridge the gap from 9th to 7rh then at least 5 upgrades required.

the teams that succeed will be the ones with the biggest squads of good players. Avoiding injuries is a must. Even last seasons side would have got into the PO if certain players had played the vast amount of league games. Feel that killed us more than the standard of the players or managers.

I don't think it will be the worst league in recent history let alone ever.
Carlisle have rich owners and a better manager.
Forest Green will spend again, as will Boreham Wood.
Yeovil have new owners with money.
The 2 relegated sides have their parachute payments to spend
I reckon if we can get the Vic back to being a fortress with regular home wins as the norm we'll have the basis to build on towards the top 7.

turning the draws into wins will see the job done. we could easily lose 18 games next season and still be comfortably in the play off positions if we win the rest. if football was sex then only a win would be a shag and a draw only a wank away from home. a home draw is just a promise.

Watmore only turned 32 in March so should have enough left to make an impact at this level.

Agreed-- he should have at least 3 good seasons left in him, at this level- as he seems to keep himself in decent nick. Hope we can get it over the line in the next couple of days.

at 32 kevin ellison would have ended up getting a 10 year testimonial at a club if he had stayed with one. its not games that finish off older players its because many get pissed off with the training.

It's a 2 way thing between club n player we're sometimes they end up being free agents after the season has started which can mean only division 5 employment is available from September.

Sure this happen with Fevs signing for Pools in the Autumn to Winter period.
