Pools V ?

I have a mate who is a Liverpool fan (he is born & bred there, not an armchair fan) & I was telling him that we have never played Liverpool in a competitive game. I also think there is one other league club we have never played against, anyone know who it is or have I got it wrong?

I'd say Everton (not counting when we got cuffed by their U21s a couple of seasons ago)

Yeah I thought of Everton but does the game against their U21 team count?

The only other team I can't recall a game against is Newcastle, but we must have played them previously (not counting pre-season friendlies)

In the 1930s Pools played Newcastle in an FA cup tie at St James Park. Another question which football club have we played the most times.

its bound to be one we played in the old third division north. think stockport were the one a few years back. as long as its not eastleigh in 50 years time i,m not over bothered.

Most times is Rochdale - 150 games.

we have at least once home and away as we played them early on in the 1975/6 season.

Yep, 44 times, as recently as 2013 in League One.

Yeah, 1986/87 season, drew 1-1 at the Vic and lost 2-0 in the second leg at Ayresome Park.
