Decent as a squad player, thought he had a good back end of the season and is quite versatile. But please not him and Sheron together in the centre of midfield.

Hunter got a one year deal - no club option on a second year like Charman got. Based on the back end of last season, he's as much cover for the two first-choice centre backs as he is an option in midfield.

Too slow and too predictable…bit of a plodder….underwhelmed too.

I think he's well worth giving another year. As said earlier on this thread he can play all over the place, he's not injury prone and he always works hard. Also he comes in very useful when the center-back injuries start rolling in (and they will- because they always do).

I think he is too slow to play in midfield now. As a centre half I thought he done quite well and was pretty consistent. Hopefully a solid squad player rather than a starter.

Hartlepool United is pleased to confirm that terms have been agreed with Jack Hunter on a new contract ahead of the 2026/27 season, subject to the relevant approvals.

The agreement would keep the midfielder at the Prestige Group Stadium until June 2027, with the Club holding the option of a further year through to the summer of 2028.

Looks like Clarky is going to have to create an unbelievable team spirit which can be the difference to a normal season or scraping into the play-offs.

Maybe it is a long term plan to enter the EFL division 4.

up to a couple of old midfielders we have had recently he,s usain bolt. agree about him being a squad player but hope for a few first teamers to sign instead of getting the back ups right.

I'd hope that both Hunter and Charman are back ups to better players we've yet to sign. Can't see either of them being regular starters in a promotion winning side.

There are TWO long features on Jack Hunter re-signing on the OS. Read the first one, which doesn't mention the option on another year, didn't bother to read the second...

Wonder how many we'll get when when actually sign a new player? I'm guessing three as a minimum

The official site still has all of last seasons losers, has-beens, and crocks among our squad!

Maybe that's because technically they are still our players- assuming their contracts don't finish until the 30th June?

Cam John isn't our player, nor is Sinclair, both returned to York at the end of the season and hasn't Sinclair signed for a Scottish team?

Well if the loanees are listed then its clear that the website hasn't been updated- hardly ground breaking news, given how long it takes them to update it usually.
Having an up to date website, is really important- as not everybody subscribes to social media- (I certainly don't).

Surely it's a two horse race between Young Stello, and Mark Simpson?

The official site has been horrendous for ages, even on match days they rarely had the team sheet for the match. And as I've mentioned on another thread, there's not even a link to buy STs even though there's a "buy tickets" tab.
Needs sorting asap imo.
