It seems strange to me how local businesses seem to be desperate to want to be part of the Monkey Business club and put sponsorship money into the club under the new regime yet were loathe to do so under the previous one. Have we got new shirt sponsors for the new season? I the ground going to have a new sponsor anything but Prestige in the name why not revert to Victoria Park.
In the new Times Rich list the name Peter Stephenson a billionaire owner Able marine at Port Clarence came up why not ask if he would be interested in investing in the club or a sponsorship deal.

Pretty sure something will be in the pipeline.

When they've been talking about club heritage, I was hoping they'd revert back to Victoria Ground. Victoria Park never sat well with me.

They should just call it "The Vic", everyone calls it that and if you want to sponsor it The Bloggs Windows Vic or The Acme Removals Vic....simples.

I think all the sponsorships announced so far are pretty small sums of money. Nothing wrong with that - they all add up.

More importantly, they are all establishing the idea that the football club is something that progressive local businesses want to identify with.

The biggest so far is a company called Evolution, who are sponsoring "first team travel wear" for another season. Shirt sponsorship and ground naming rights will be at a different level of mullah.

Peter Stephenson should return some of his riches to Hartlepool, the only thing he has brought to Hartlepool is s mountain of garbage which we have no idea what is in it. I remember in the 70s it was a flat field, think it belonged or was connected to the RAF ? Too late now but it would have been a good location for a new Pools stadium.

Why should he cough up anything, what some one does with their money is their business.

As for building a new ground on the site, it would have been prohibitive and entailed excavating a maze of surface and sub surface concrete bunkers …. and RAF Seaton Snooks was manned by the RAF and the USAF during its time of operation. The location was liable to surface and sub surface flooding and being on th Tees estuary flood plain as desirable as a football pitch as a swamp…not mention the coldness of the area in the winter which is devoid of any bus services or surrounding facilities…a worse place for a pitch I find hard to imagine….working up there in the seventies was bad enough in the winter.

love it when commentators slip up and call the ground what we do the vic. they sound really appolagetic about it and expect a sanction from somewhere. can see nothing wrong in selling the rights to name the ground as long as Victoria Ground is included in the title.

No problem Jamie, the old feller worked at the Graythorp yard as well and it can get a bit foggy on winter evenings.
I remember a lad I know telling me when they were building the waste site the final structure would be landscaped and spoil the view…..the view was basically Seal Sands chemical works and Titan….some view…

Couldn't care less what a sponsor wants to call the stadium, it's always been and always will be The Vic for me. As long as they're paying the going rate it doesn't matter if it's called "The Prestige Raj of Rajistan at Victoria Park Stadium" as long as we get the Dosh.

Aye, it’s what the fans call it that counts.

We need to change that sign on the car park.

From Proud members of the Vanarama league to EFL sharpish and rid the Prestige shit that's still there.
