Government wastes money is hardly news is it? It's happening everywhere but this self proclaimed Pro-Brexit, Left Leaning publication focusses on what is a relatively small amount of money and mentions the projected from the outset spend not the actual cost at the time of the failure. What about the 100 odd quangos set up by Labour in their first 100 days in office? £10bn handed to the lunatic in charge of Great British Energy, with a not insignificant portion being handed to everseas governments to fund green projects overseas as an example?
Not long ago Jamie was trying to make out Farage was corrupt over election spending yet the investigation has been dropped by the police and the Electoral Committee found no wrong doing. Ironically the Electoral Commission gave their verdict on the same day Nandy and Starmer were found guilty by the Governments Ethics Advisor of a gross failure in appointing a Labour Party and personal donor to the pair of them to the head if the Football Regulator position. It was announced yesterday that Starmer (as head if the Civil Service) is being sued for allowing Civil Servants to promote LGBT causes and attend marches whilst representing the Government. It's just a new sleaze and corruption story every week with this lot, and it's not just 1 or 2 individuals the whole lot of them are taking the piss. Tory's even polling higher than Labour now. There's going to be a mad dash for personal enhancement by this lot before they're ousted by a Reform/Tory pact. And it won't get better, "we're doomed".

I never stated Farage was corrupt, I posted he was being investigated over election expenses, of recent he has been very quiet after the accusations of the comments he made whilst attending Dulwich.
The next party to form a government will be no different from this one, there will be a black hole and will have to make cuts and raise taxes.

You constantly dig up stories trying to cast aspersions of corruptions about Reform, Reform Councillors, Farage, Farage's girlfriend yet never comment on proven and actual corruption in the highest echelons of our Government. Nothing to say about Nandy or Starmer breaching the code of ethics and handing a highly paid government position to atbeir and the party's donor then? Were long overdue a bit of balance from you.

When one has a one track mind the last thing that emerges is the concept of balance. It is a trait that encompasses zealots and Jamie is a left wing zealot.

Yes I constantly dig up stories about the people/parties you mention, the reason I do is because the right wing MSM don’t but are quick to dig up stories about the current government and any other political organisation/persons they don’t agree with.

more or less then just following on from when the first newspaper came off the printing press. now you have social media to keep a check on. doubt there is a small brass coin between em all in that respect but people believe less of the party they follow or prefer.

The biggest and most laughable irony is that Jamie clearly believes that with his biased left wing snippets he's providing us with balance!! Think he's been out in that Thailand sun and heat too long.

No not providing you balance, I am not far left, but there needs to be a bit more balance in the MSM, until recently Farage and Reform were never out the news but they are now running out steam, there lead over the other parties has been cut to between 3 and 5%.The electorate now see them as a one trick pony their push to leave the EU has back fired with many independent institutions saying it was a mistake.
Multiple recent economic analyses, especially from late 2025, conclude that leaving the EU has reduced the UK's GDP, with estimates suggesting it's 6-8% lower than it would have been, significantly impacting investment, productivity, and trade compared to remaining in the bloc. While some sectors show mixed results, the overall consensus from studies, including by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and UK-focused groups, points to substantial economic costs from increased trade barriers and reduced business confidence

You say you're not providing balance then tell us that you post your stuff because the MSM doesn't provide balance, thereby giving us your twisted view if balance, give your head a shake man.
The MSM tore Boris to shreds, they tore Truss to shreds and were all over Sunak, it's what they do it's now Starmer etc also turn.
Merry Xmas.

In Europe "christmas day" starts at sunset on Xmas eve and ends at sunset on the day we know as xmas day.

So all can now resume the bombardment now! :D

Starmer is out of touch with reality like the majority of politicians, no such thing as a left wing politician nowadays, the MSM more so the Murdoch press would make sure of that.

The only reason any politician defects to Reform is so they don’t lose their seat wether it be a council election or G.E.

or defect back if it starts to look rosy in one of the main party,s again. really how many now could you actually trust to do the right thing and not just or themselves. only know one present mp away from politics and the only time i realised she supported labour was when she put herself up for the seat. she used to agree with everyone/

Are we still sure Hartlepool Council (HBC) still owns the freehold of Victoria Park and that it has not been transferred to the Hartlepool Development Corporation (HDC) i.e.Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) as have many other Hartlepool assets in 2023? Its not specifically listed but there is a big catch all statement stating "including public realm and civic buildings"

I’d forget all about that, because when Starmer’s new local government changes come in, the ownership will rest with a new Council based in Middlesbrough and be subject to their whims. The old Cleveland Coincil was never very helpful towards Polls, well this new Council will probably just as detached,…be very wary.

A keen follower of the world money markets and woolly socialism make poor bedfellows.

It must be easy to be a staunch Labour supporter when you live abroad cherry picking news articles to suit your agenda rather than actually living the reality of this horrendous government.

You appear to have a problem with some one who follows the stock markets, is it a crime, we all have different interests, I am sure many socialists follow the markets as well, I know many who do. We don’t all wear flat caps keep whippets and live in social housing.

Gary Stevenson vlog about inequality and wealth, worth a watch, fella talks a lot of sense, basically the rich are becoming richer and the others are being left behind.

Why is it worth a watch, we all know that the wealth gap is growing, we all know that politicians are out of touch with reality, we all know that legal immigration isn't a problem but illegal migrants are, standard of living is not improving, etc etc don't need anyone to tell us that do we?

I am retired, I contribute to the U.K. economy through income tax Snowy but currently not a burden on the state.
You need to check your facts before posting Snowy, around 9,500 to 10,800 High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) left the UK in 2024, this represents a very small fraction, roughly 0.3%, of the UK's total millionaire population (over 3 million), making the "exodus" largely a media-hyped myth, not a significant demographic shift, according to analyses by Tax Justice UK and others.

I’d forget all about that, because when Starmer’s new local government changes come in, the ownership will rest with a new Council based in Middlesbrough and be subject to their whims. The old Cleveland Coincil was never very helpful towards Polls, well this new Council will probably just as detached,…be very wary.

you always find that these large area councils take from towns who get nothing back and the money goes to where they are based.

Why is it worth a watch, we all know that the wealth gap is growing, we all know that politicians are out of touch with reality, we all know that legal immigration isn't a problem but illegal migrants are, standard of living is not improving, etc etc don't need anyone to tell us that do we?

Watch it before voicing an opinion, an uneducated fella who is now a multi millionaire.

Exactly but no one takes any notice of his opinions that’s the problem, I very much doubt he would get a slot on GB News, he would tear the interviewers up for ar** paper.

Correct….they bugger off overseas and put nothing into the UK economy.

I am retired, I contribute to the U.K. economy through income tax Snowy but currently not a burden on the state.

Bloody hell this does not look good especially from a Financial Times article.

Recent investigations by the Financial Times (FT) into the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) have uncovered significant financial mismanagement and governance failures as of late 2025 and early 2026.
Key Revelations from FT and Recent Reports
Missing Loan Agreements: The FT revealed that the South Tees Development Corporation (STDC) and Teesside International Airport were awarded over £500 million in loans from the TVCA without proper legal or formal loan agreements in place.
Unrecoverable Debt: At least £28 million in interest from loans to Teesside Airport is considered unlikely to be repaid and is expected to be written off as "bad debt".
Audit Failures: External auditors (Ernst & Young) have "disclaimed" TVCA’s accounts for multiple consecutive years due to material misstatements and inconsistencies.
Government Intervention: Following these revelations, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) issued a Best Value Notice to the TVCA to investigate its "dysfunctional" governance under Mayor Lord Ben Houchen.
Airport Profit Discrepancies: While official statements claimed a £1.1 million pre-tax profit for Teesside Airport, further analysis suggested this was bolstered by a controversial £12.5 million grant from the TVCA in March 2025.

Tax payers money bottomless pit, nought will come of it same as the Teesside Development Corporation,
The original Teesside Development Corporation (TDC), which was wound up in 1998, reportedly piled up losses of up to £40 million. A 2002 National Audit Office (NAO) report indicated the defunct corporation had debts estimated at £23 million, which were to be paid by the taxpayer.

Like 99% of people do…are you a Missionary in Thailand because you talk like a Vicar…?
You ran away to live cheaply, thousands of miles away and spend your time waffling on about things that have no effect on you….on a daily basis.
If it’s so good over there why not get involved in life over there rather than someone who pops up like a Meerkat on a promise on a daily basis lecturing everyone about your wonderful life and how bad things are over there.
Is there nobody over there to talk to or do you lecture them too…?
Do you live in Thailand or Thornley…?

Everyone has a right to an opinion Snowy, if you don’t like mine so be it, does it bother me about your rants and raves about me, not at all. I pay U.K. taxes and I have a right to comment on how it’s being spent, well squandered.
So what if I live here because the cost of living is lower, I lead a far more comfortable, affordable healthy lifestyle here, it appears to bother you, the opportunity is open to everyone Snowy. Why be stuck in a very cold U.K. unable to get out and about where a dusting of snow practically closes the country down and people can’t afford to heat their homes.
I live among many U.K. citizens of all ages some come for few months in the winter others live here permanently and their conversations are no different from mine, you must know some boring people tbh.
To finish off you really start behaving like an adult Snowy, no matter what I post about your straight in there with a dig at me.

Why is Starmer leaving him alone? Gove let him off. This is almost Trumpian in its absurdity.

He gets educated every single time he raises his head by you and others, Snowy, but never learns. It wouldn't surprise me if he was lifted by Trump.
Can you just see the scenario. Donald, why are you picking on me, are you jealous of my exotic lifestyle. The answer coming back would be Get back in yer basket.
