The Poolie Bunker

The ground is an ‘Asset of Community Value’ as a football ground. The council was very supportive when this was implemented some years back. They will support a phoenix club if it comes to that because of this and they’re perfectly aware of the upside of a football club. Back in 2016 which was the last lease I seen the ground rent was £1500 a month. It’ll have gone up a bit since that but it’s still very very cheap.

Unfortunately he isn't gone. He is a bitter bitter man who has destroyed 2 clubs and the idiots who keep saying be careful what you wish for, need to remember that. 2 great north eastern clubs ruined by this man.

The club is an absolute joke at the minute, something needs doing but I hazard a guess this story will run with raj Singh in charge.we had the Wrexham lads sniffing about, not creditable according to raj, now on the verge of the championship pumping millions into their town, we had the york owner dropping hints about us probobly not creditable according to raj, now pulling in 6000 crowds near the top of the league, the consortium not creditable now one of them is involved in another club.

Good riddance whether we are in the national league or putting 5 past billingham town next year I will be back once he has gone.

I agree Horden, it's just rotten to the core. We need a club with no debt that spends its money on p!ayers, managers, facilities and fans. Might be a pipedream but.........

He hasn't ruined us though has he? We're in pretty much the same league position as when he arrived and probably the same level of debt.
So overall stagnation over the period of his tenure (so far) but not ruination - yet!

as far as debt is concerned in todays world of football its more about manageable debt with a rich owner than no debt at all. if we did get the type of suger daddy owner most want our debt will rise but the fortunes of the club might as well. without knowing i,d guess wrexham and stockport are losing more than us but everyone can see something positive from this.

Whatever happens it's imperative that we maintain our NL status imo.

Unless someone buys the club pre administration then that’s a folorn hope. If we go into admin we’ll get a 12 points deduction which could easily put us in the bottom four. As things stand that places us third bottom.

Singh going would be a more apt thread heading surely...he hasn't gone....yet.

a lot might depend on which part of his time with us we look at. up to our relegation season things were quite decent but then everything has gone downhill and only stopped by stagnation.

that would be for next season if he is true to his word by seeing this one out financially. true that we need an owner before that happens no matter how big their wallets are as we,d start with minus 12 points and a team on the cheap that would make it a difficult task to recover from with even a good manager and scouting system.

From Singh’s perspective administration makes no sense, he’ll lose everything. He’d be far better off selling for whatever he can get, it all comes down to whether a buyer exists and for how much.

surely its time this dog has its day again and somebody comes along to put the club back where we think it belongs. doubt any club who has a rich owner expected it to happen even a day before it did. there is nothing unique about pools or the position its in and would have had their jokers at the club like we have ours.

Does anything Singh does make sense? He 'was going to stop funding the club by the end of last Feb' only to turn around and dismiss the bids he asked for.
Didn't he turn down offers for the golden share at Darlo, therefore losing his money in the process? (This is a genuine question as I can't remember what exactly happened there)

I was always a bit confused by that golden share issue as it’s supposed to be a mechanism to protect the club’s heritage and the fans.

Let’s assume that this time R.S. does leave the club. What can we as fans do to help the club survive. What assets do we have as supporters. There is the S.A which has helped the club financially on a number of occasions. With the Corner Flag they have a focal point for efforts to save the club. Then there is the Trust. They have proved that they have business acumen having assembled a take over bid last year. There is also the HOOC group , input from them would be useful.
Between these three groups could the club become fan owned. I believe that the Trust did make enquiries on how this could be achieved maybe it is time to resurrect the idea. Thoughts please

Exactly right

I reckon Raj has already flogged the club to Dion Dublin (and Martin from Homes Under The Hammer) They love a Doer-Upper!

That's why Dion was at the York game- checking out the fixtures and fittings. They'll have Vic regular and Dion's former team mate Gary 'Pally' Pallister
as Director of Football. Which is why Raj is is only funding the club until the summer.

The bad news is that Wayne Rooney is set to be the new manager! (Dee Doo Dor, Don't Dee Dor)?

as long as that scouse git is not the brains behind the scheme then things might be fine. he,d make rachel reeves look like an all time financial genious.

I think what we need is unity. There's a lot of fan groups and a lot of fans who are anti-Trust or anti-HOOC (mostly for the man who set it up). There are umbrella groups of fan groups at other clubs, might be best to try and get this set up for all supporters groups, then we can work out how we're going to work together, the sniping can stop and hopefully we can move forward together. I don't think we'll end up as fan owned but it would be good if the Trust/Umbrella group could get some form of stake in the club moving forward to try and ensure we as fans get some sort of say in the running of the club. The club feels very distant currently due to the lack of accountability and transparency from the club, hopefully this can be rectified by the next owners.

surely though to get some fan envolvment with the club fans would need to put their hands in their pockets to provide this on top of any monies the groups have. its not as if the town is full of rich folk to do this where plenty will struggle to pay the gate money. then you could get a proper fans representative on the board but it would not be easy as they will get the same shit as one made up by the club to do this with accusations of selling out. it would not be easy as the wrong man could be overawed by the experiance on top of all that like union reps who meet management have done in the past.
