I mentioned last year the areas non league teams showing new ambition under the new pyramid laws to turn down promotions.

Means x Northern League Clubs are within sniffing distance of having a derbie with Pools.

Dunston
Newton Aycliffe
Stockton etc.

The new norm unless lala Micky Mouse World exists.

The way it's going it won't be long until we are playing Bridge Youth Centre U13's in a pre-season friendly to get the Pools players bedded in and find their legs.

We are already a minnow. We’d be thrashed by Darlo, Spennymoor and Fat bloke down the pub united.

We’re on the football equivalent of Death row…or that popular location here in the 50’s down the docks for warships awaiting scrapping…in ‘mothballs’….that air of seeing no future hangs over us.
Change will spark a revival, but when is change coming ?

The world has changed and is changing, at a rate faster than ever, football is no different in that respect. When you think about it, towns like Hartlepool, Halifax, Scunthorpe, Darlington, Rochdale, Oldham, need I go on? represent the past, industrial, large populations, quite buoyant economically, but now struggling and looking as though that will continue for the foreseeable. The clubs in those towns got used to a certain way of going about their business, usually quite sloppy, scrimping and scraping on a daily basis to get by.

In contrast, the Crawley's, MK Dons, Forest Greens, Barnet's, Dorking's, Worthing's of this world, these towns are wealthy in comparison, attract the rich chairman and investment, their supporters are more affluent, they seem able to recruit and retain the better players, despite the huge disparity in house prices. These towns represent the future, and these clubs are replacing the tired old Hartlepool's and Rochdale's of this world one by one, its sad but true, and we need to either buck our ideas up or get used to it.

If one good thing has come from this season, its that the majority of our once deluded fanbase have finally come to realise this, that their once proud little football club will never win anything, whether Singh is in charge or not, but especially whilst Singh is in charge.

The reality and the enormity of the situation has finally kicked in.

so true. once we were part of the hotbed of football thats moved down south and left the old industrial heartlands of the country behind. things began to change right back in the 20,s and 30,s slowed down by a war and the availability of jobs right up to the 70,s. if our great grandparents came back they,d be shocked to see league fixtures without ashington, durham, stockton, darwin, nelson and merthyr not amongst the teams.

Seaton Carew FC were away at Shotton Colliery FC yesterday, and beat them three-nil.

I would seriously doubt that the current Pools team could do any better against The Axemen.

if we play like we have done recently and they did not raise their game we would hammer them. the gap is much bigger than fans think. if it wasn,t we,d have a full squad from that standard in pools shirts saving thousands of pounds a year that raj would love. those who have played against any ex league player even those in their 40,s will know what i mean.
