The Poolie Bunker

Some farmers can be seen riding two wheeled and four wheeled motorised bikes though, probably because they are more efficient. Let's be honest any farmer seen rounding his sheep up for instance on a push bike would be classed as eccentric.
If farmers suddenly discovered the idea that farming on a push bike was efficient they would all be at it, especially due to the reduced costs that would ensue.
I don't know Arthur but I've met plenty like him.

There’ll be no livestock left when Millibean gets ripping with his plans….all the fields will be full of solar panels and wind turbines

One of the reasons Labour want farmers to sell up is to make land available for housing and renewables. Who to trust Clarkson or Milliband? Its a tough call!

If it was between Milliband or Darth Vader, I’d give Vader the benefit of the doubt every time.

Some news outlets claiming that the government have today started an impact assessment on this issue, you couldn't make it up!!

Talk about putting the cart before the horse….Starmer will probably be ordering an Enquiry into the Great Fire of London next.

Diddums.

ever thought that might be their cunning plan for poorer farmers who are property rich to sell out to larger land owning farmers to end up where some have a near monopoly of the industry. labour have always thought that bigger is best no matter how top heavy these industries are.

So we end up with all farms owned by mega companies…..then Reeves and Mortimer nationalise them all and we starve.

reeves and mortmer sound like a pre war ice skating theatre act.

Vic and Bob off ‘Shooting Stars’…..organised chaos on TV, as opposed to Reeves and Starmer’s disorganised chaos…. ‘Shooting themselves in the Foot’. :

Jill Mortimer!!! [shudder]

What’s that got to do with anything …

We’re the farmers exempt from paying the ULEZ Tax in the recent protest in London ?

Your point is…..

It was you who mentioned the name Mortimer...you know that tory farming kunt from North Yorkshire. Do keep up.

Keep up…I was referring to Bob Mortimer of ‘ Shooting Stars’……
Read all the post and not some Pavlovian response to key words.

Mind funny how no one complained about our previous MP in view of his reason for resigning…….but that was quietly buried at midnight so it wouldn’t be mentioned….if he’d not been a Labour MP some folk would be squealing with outrage.

Just asking the question, anyone know the answer, for me yes they would be charged if they fail to pay it they will be fined £180.

What’s that got to do with anything … [/quote]

Did the previous Labour MP own a farm, plenty of politicians of all parties committed the same offences as he did, he was found guilty and subsequently punished was he not.

..

Not unless it was opposite the Co-op in Elwick Rd…you do know why he resigned I assume but it was nothing to do with farms.

Never!!!

I thought Reeves and Starmer but kept seeing pictures. of Bob and Vic in my head.

But on a more lighter note...

50% of all the land in England is owned by 1%

In England an area the size of Greater London is used only for shooting grouse.

Good on Labour on getting these kunts to pay inheritance tax.

I could select a dozen Bunkerites who would probably do a much better job of governing than any so called people's parties.

But most of it is owned by the mega rich who are paying fuck all yet the farmers get lamped.

Be like a chimps tea party in a kids play area for toddlers …in Parliament.

especially if they are the real scroungers of this country, part of the royal family who think actual work is what we call a holiday.

So it appears the £500m that this tax is expected to raise (to help save the NHS apparently) is the same amount dickhead Starmer has promised to foreign farmers.......

Parliament is full of idiots.

The Country deserves it's government. The people put them there.

True but the people would never ever had done so if they had known they voted for lies.

The warnings were there. Tax and spend is their bible until they run out of other people's money. But hey the Country has made it's bed and now we must lie in it.

Still nowhere near as bad as the last 5 tory PM's.

It is……oh it is.

I find it mad after a few months of a new government it seems half the country has turned to snowflakes and are hysteric. Someone, somewhere is prodding all this, it’s not normal behaviour. Governments come and go and the world keeps turning.

Looks like it’s you getting hysterical snowflake.
No one nowhere is doing anything, it’s just the public realising they’ve been shafted.
Just ask the constituents….it’s called buyers remorse.

What do you base your assumptions on Snowy, the markets are usually a sign if things aren’t going well and they are currently steady away not like when Truss trashed the economy in a matter weeks with her mini budget.
The right wing MSM are driving the electorate against the government at every opportunity.

Oh no it isn't.

Which other government has marched in and condemned 50000 pensioners into poverty in the first year of their term? Or condemned 4000 pensioners to an early death in the first winter of their term? Labours own figures nothing to do with MSM. Governments main priority must always be to protect the population and particularly the most vulnerable. In my lifetime I've never known such a callous lot, these are our families that will be affected, people, not stock markets.

You have a morbid will to defend failure

Fuck me, it’s the Pantomime season

Nigel Farage's. best new mate Elon Musk calling out to his 200 million followers on X that the UK is now a 'tyrannical police state'..what's not to like about that, jamie?

According to End Fuel Poverty 4950 pensioners died of the cold last year, anyone who dies by freezing to death is horrific but it’s not a new phenomenon sadly. The vast majority will lose £200 if that causes an early death their issues are deeper than WFA given the Conservative Triple lock pension increases.

To add to that, between October 22 and March 23 the price cap fluctuated between £3100 and £4100. Between the same period 23-24 the cap was between £1834 and £1928. It's now been set at £1717. The reporting about all of this is very poor. Labour absolutely haven't helped themselves with piss poor communication though.

'No-one nowhere is doing anything' - I don't need to go into it as other posters above have given examples to counter this. People should be appalled by anyone trying to undermine or influence our democracy. Musk is only the latest, high profile example.

You are the one suggesting ‘dark forces’ are undermining Starmer’s glorious reign.
Total nonsense of course, as he’s doing a cracking job of undermining himself catastrophically, ….unassisted by anyone else.…… ( cue X Files theme…oh dear)

trouble is we are all having our own parts in one now instead of just watching them.

The problem generally to put it crudely is UK pensions are shit..and always have been.
We’re 16th highest in Europe…or should that be lowest…..Spain’s top with £2287….big difference.
Not helped by our ridiculous electricity prices which according to the Industrial international energy price comparison report, are the highest of the 28 countries covered by the IEA.
One reason quoted in the report was our electricity was subject to a carbon tax.
We’re No1 in unaffordable electricity…no surprise there then.

its like going back to covid again where people died with it but not because of it. iwe have lost our winter fuel allowance but like many others have done we have cut back on other things to claw the money back. as one woman said i just didn,t book my turkey and tinsel mid week in blackpool this year. doubt it will be cancelled or any cruises either.
