Been leaked the NMW is going up 4% to £13 an hour.
Non funded from the government but they will be expectingxtra taxes coming in.
Can see employers just cutting staff for the same workload output so they have to work faster/harder. Seen that happen in factory life.

Expect a mega rise in Food Inflation again.
But on the BBC website you Gunna be ok if you eat marmalade n gherkins.
Apparently £21 a year better off.

Ironic how the politicians with their bloated egos, are cockily telling us that they’re increasing the minimum wage, is bollocks.
They aren’t coughing up Jack shit, they’re just making the employers pay.
Politicians never lose face…..they all have two as standard.

They could rake in even more by getting these lazy bastads of massive benefits.
And make them work instead of the luxury life of shirking.

If governments can freeze workers wages by freezi g the tax thresholds for 10 years.

They can freeze benefits for 10 years.

Like I previously said being unemployed in the 80's was fucking brutal.

Better than expected.
£100 energy winter payment
Gas Standing Charge to be scrapped sometime next year ( with plans to do the same further down the line wirh Leccy)
No vat on Leccy extended to July
Cash isa limit staying at 20k a year.

Not converting from Reform

Just stating better than expected for now but Inflation will likely wipe out any mini positives from April via higher shop prices and c tax nailed on up by 5%

£100 energy winter payment
- Only for those Band A - D.

Gas Standing Charge to be scrapped sometime next year ( with plans to do the same further down the line wirh Leccy)
- Will be added to the charge per unit used.

No vat on Leccy extended to July
- Big deal!

Cash isa limit staying at 20k a year.
- It should have increased due to inflation, as should the tax thresholds.

THIS IS OKAY/BETTER THAN NOTHING, AND MOST PEOPLE LIVE IN THESE BANDS.

Gas Standing Charge to be scrapped sometime next year ( with plans to do the same further down the line wirh Leccy)
- Will be added to the charge per unit used. MY GAS STANDING CHARGE IS .58p A DAY. THROUGH MOST OF THE SUMMER I BARELY USE ANY GAS AT ALL, SO PERSONALLY AS A LOW SUMMER USER I WELCOME THIS, OR THE OPTION TO HAVE IT.

No vat on Leccy extended to July

BETTER THAN NOTHING. IVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY WE ARE TAXED ON A NECESSITY.

My replies above in capitals.

I agree re tax thresholds, this is the biggest ripoff of them all.

The gas standing charge is worded on the BBC website.
Will be scrapped in 2027(or as soon as possible after).

So maybe /probably 2028

Confirmed by Martin Lewis to be Oct 27 or Jan 28.

Some woman on the news saying January's expected gas/Leccy to rise by 16% while he says 26%.

So basically this £100 is fake/dead money

Also private renters are in for a major rise.

Anyone seen the latest Billy Moore YouTube video in Paris.
What a fcuken cesspit of scruffy migrants pissing shitting n masturbating on the streets.

And reckons it's all coming our way.

Anyone under 40 now basically has no future.
Sad but true.

Interest on savings increased to 24% up from 20% in 2026/27 it’s not actually encouraging anyone to save money. You might as well spend, spend, spend that is if you have any spare cash.

Plenty of bagheads now got hard as fuck breed protection dogs

Burnhams view on an election has gone down from 3 years to 1.

If Labour win a snap election they can rip up the current Manifesto and change Income Tax from 20p to 25p or even higher.

Just keep that in mind workers when the GE arrives.

Dead right! I believe if you have two arms and legs you should have to work for your benefits, there's plenty of streets need cleaning, parks to maintain, etc etc. Even if some firms took them on to learn a trade whilst receiving benefit money, then we would weed out the shirkers from the genuine people who want to work for a living.

The UK's overall tax burden has reached its highest level since the post-war era—projected to hit around 36.9% to 37.7% of GDP—not because peak income tax rates went up, but due to "fiscal drag" caused by frozen income tax thresholds.
No mention of the income tax threshold being raised or mention of the triple lock, looks like we are stuck with the threshold until to 2030, at the least it should have been increased for pensioners many who are falling into income tax threshold.

The workers might be outnumbered by the shirkers including the ones in inwork benefits, like turkeys they are not going to vote for Christmas.

In Scotland, Higher tax rate comes in at £31,093 (£37,701 in the rest of the UK). At that point the Personal Savings Allowance drops to £500 and the tax to be paid on that savings interest will be 44%.

It seems to me that he's preparing for a snap election so that he can rip up the present manifesto, up taxes for everyone, and start the re-joining the EU process. As has been said in the media this was a very bland budget with the big sweetener for many of the £100, the raising of NMW which many will say is a good thing but it won't be for those who lose their jobs because of it, no pain for the benefit scroungers while not caring about pensioners because not many vote Labour.
These are very worrying times as the polls predict that he'd actually get a working majority for another 5 years if he called a GE today.

This is where ISAs come in. Stick your savings in an ISA and shield yourself from savings tax.

He can’t take the risk of calling an early G.E., there was nothing in the budget to encourage people to vote Labour, it could end up a coalition no idea who with though. Whilst he has a huge majority Burnham won’t call an election not unless support for the other parties collapses.

They scrapped the proposed cut to £10000 and kept it at £20000, bearing in mind who saves that much in year ?

Not many Jamie, but those that could should not have been put in a position where they were only allowed to put 1/2 of what they were normally allowed.

Also discrimination shown by the Labour government to landlords who now have to pay 24% instead of 20%, what difference should it make where your income comes from.

And further discrimination to those that have a council tax band E or higher, no £100 help towards fuel costs!

One time NATO wouldn’t have got involved in this business at all, both sides had their zones of influence and kept their distance influenced no doubt by the thought of nuclear war.
Nowadays we have politicians openly talking of war with Russia..has the world gone mad…?

Didn't this Chancellor resign the position of Defence Minister over insufficient spending on defence? Now he's delivered a budget that doesn't meet the governments own commitments. They've kicked almost everything down the road and will gauge public interest and likely voting patterns over the next few weeks and months. There's no way they're going the full 5 year term.

Burnham says he is going to cut the welfare bill eventually, Heeley says before the next parliament and that it will be done in a Labour way.
What is the betting that what they have got in their sights is the state pension as that is the largest part of the benefit system presently. We all know how the state pension and pensioners are their two big itches and they are itching to scratch those itches (no pun intended).
The non Labour vote has to be united to ensure they are not given the chance to do that or the chance to increase taxes and national insurance.
We can't afford to take the risk. Believe me.

Labour need to change the party name to the Benefits Party, the meaning of the word labour is physical work, hardly appropriate now.

Stocksfield they are landlords and ‘landlords’, Brendan Rodgers had a huge property portfolio with his wife albeit I believe he lost some of it in the divorce settlement. Robbie Fowler has a property portfolio of over £30 million, me, my property portfolio consisted of a flat which I recently sold, I was paying 20% income tax on the rent, the previous tenants left the place in a right mess, not worth the hassle for the small returns.

They won’t cut the welfare bill, it’s in their DNA…….The only part of the welfare bill they’ll cut is pensions, as Labour commentators are peddling the myth pensioners are loaded…a very small percentage maybe but the majority aren’t…but generally Labour seem to think that pensioners don’t share their opinion, so feck the pensioners.

With the amount of Boaties n Lazyites and now a housing shortage and the asking prices for houses going down.

A lot of Landlords are going down the route of converting houses into hmos/ bedsits and guaranteed the rent of the government.

I know a terraced house near the health centre which has 2 double and 2 single bedrooms been converted into 7 bedsits at £350 a room month.
3 rooms in the attic level (no loft)
3 on the first floor
1 on the ground floor
Tiny kitchen n Communal room and backyard.

Good business that like.

Where's the logic in taking WFA off pensioners then giving £100 to 21 million homeowners who may or may not need it, apart from buying votes in an early election. My bet is next May / June then if Labour fool the people again financial Armageddon arises.

The government have introduced a tapered relief scheme for those on a pension earning above the tax threshold of £12,570 and £13,037 where no tax will be paid.
Anyone getting a pension of any sorts between those amounts will get a rebate each year. Yes HMRC will have to check pensioners income each year to see if they will be sent a cheque. Needless bureaucracy!
Why don't they just set the tax threshold to the state pension amount for those that are retired and save people a lot of worry and a lot of work!

As for landlords, I reckon if they grouped together and fought the extra 4% they have to pay in the courts then they might have a good chance of winning.
Imagine the government saying that nurses will have to pay an extra 4%, they would be a national outcry!

Those who have saved hard and/or put money into properties for their retirement are being hit hard for no reason at all!
And again those in Band E and higher, who may be worse off than someone in a Band A property miss out on £100, again unfair.
Saying that I don't agree with the £100 handout, especially when the government took away the winter allowance.
Pensions should get a fair pension which more than covers their basic needs, especially those who have worked and put into the system.

As for betting on Pools, I don't normally back on football, it is too difficult but I put a bit of money aside as a one off for this season to see what I could do.
And like Pools, I am struggling, which I expected. If I can break even I will be happy.

I will repeat no government is going to give up a majority of 400, they are here for the duration not unless the other parties collapse into oblivion.

Yeh but the owners will now pay more tax albeit they might just add it to the rent.

Here's £100 in December but we will be partly responsible for adding £450 for your full year 2027 bills
Plus 5% council tax rise in April + phone + broadband rises.
And the gas standing charge Dosent kick in till October 27 or January 28.

If there's a snap general election.
How can anyone vote for that shit.

As and when parties announce their manifestos which one dare say what benefits they are going to cut and how and when approximately 6.5 million people in the UK claim out-of-work or major work-related benefits according to the Department for Work and Pensions Statistics Compendium, it would take an army of civil servants to sort it out.

This country is gone, the government knows that, so long as they get their moment of fame, good or bad, they are alright!

He'll not wait another 2.5 years for another GE when he's lead the country even further down the shitter. He'll go when the polls suggest he can get a workable majority and mandate for his own agenda. Many Labour MPs will be collateral damage.
You don't need to repeat again Jamie, your opinion on politics is no more valid than anyone else's. Btw do you still think Labour are doing a good job or are they still settling in and blaming the Tory's for everything?
