Cracking player for us, div 4s Bobby Moore. Played alongside Pele for New York Cosmos during our summer close season too.

Those early 70’s memoirs as a teenager are flooding back, a reliable player who just got on with his job and couldn be depended upon to produce the goods…funny how memories are always of sunny days at seasons end,

was a top player for aldershot before we got him and he came home. night be biased but throught he was still good in a really baf workington side later in his career.

Met him at hospitality at Pools what a true gentleman of the game a good man as well as a loyal servant to the club. RIP

Yes, I recall the game at Borough Park (my first away trip) when Moore and McMahon gave us a two -nil half time lead. Second half they lay siege and Mally scored for them to make it 1-2. How we held on for the win, I have no idea. Mally did his best to keep Workington out of the bottom four but it was all to no avail, that was their last season as a Football League club as I recall. Mally Dawes was a top player for us before moving to Workington when released.
