Plus the Will Harris rumour isn’t going away..

Beech mentioned that there could be 3-4 more in the door this week…

He played in the same team as Jack Nolan the second half of last season - so should imagine we have a very good chance of signing him. Also means they already have a good understanding of how each other play- got to be win win in terms of both settling in to our new set up.

You could be my new favourite Sweatie-
Admittedly it is a pretty shallow list - behind the unmovable Craig & Charlie Reid, Eddie Kyle and of course the legendary Neale Cooper.

The current rumours are:
Kit Margetson goalkeeper on loan from Man Utd.
Harry Chapman from the town, 10 goals last season (9 in the league).

He woud'nae be nicknamed Shug if he was'nae.

Worked with a lad called Shug at a venue at the Edinburgh Festival 20 years ago. Would have been a decent gig if he hadn't put half the profits up his nose

And...Willie,Wilie Waddell... Only joined the club in March 1992 with the club in the clart but had a dynamic couple of months and played a great part in the team avoiding the drop. There was always a buzz of excitement and anticipation whenever the ball was played forward to him. 54 years later his chant is still remembered fondly to those who were there.

Rob Law now saying: "Despite some speculation, it’s understood he was NOT a target for Pools and was never a player they were actively trying to sign. Think it’s clear he didn’t really fit the current recruitment model".

There's a few Halifax supporters think we're going to sign another one of their dodgy contract players. Jay Turner Cooke, hasn't turned up for pre season training, and Halifax conspiracy theorists reckon we're waiting to see if the Will Harris thing gets resolved then we will announce turner cooke. He's a decent player, he's from South Shields and I'm guessing he'd like a better wage. It would give our games with Halifax a bit of spice next season.

Jay Turner Cooke also fits the type of profile we seem to be looking at. I feel we could do with another midfielder and he has plenty of experience at this level as well as league 2 and SPL games under his belt. He is only 22, from the North east and would add competition in the midfield area.

back to the goalkeeper situation. most were happy with cartwrights contribution last season and it shows the amount of keepers these top clubs have around. hull actually loaned another of there keepers to doncaster last season which would have made cartwright there 4th choice at least. no need to really panic before august as getting the best available is the main requirement.

I think his contract / option was similar to Pools, wonder if Halifax will claim him as theirs still too?
I believe they also announced a contract option being taken up a a player they'd previously announced as released too?
