Returns to Bournemouth, doesn't surprise me as he just didn't look like a player who could make a difference for us. I was at the York game and couldn't believe what I was seeing, his shorts were so far down his backside I'm surprised he didn't trip over them, maybe doing the lad a disservice but it looked so unprofessional. It was like his kit was two sizes too big.

I don't know how old he is (he looked about 18 -tops) - but if Bournemouth loaned him out to us to get him some game time, then I doubt they'll be sending another our way any time soon.

Youngsters come in different categories. Two such categories are the one who thinks he's too good for the likes of us and our league and will go through the motions without giving anywhere near what he is capable of and the other who just wants to play footy and relishes the opportunity to get a game whatever, whenever and wherever that game presents itself and this guy will do his best to impress, to help his team and his new team mates however temporary the occasion.
We have had both those categories here on loan and the recent standout in the second category was Reyes Cleary.
The problem is there are plenty of clubs willing to loan out their youngsters but landing the ones like Cleary are few and far between.
Funny old game (c. James Greaves)

Dacosta Gonzalez is 20. Any player at a Premier League or Championship side who is in the last year of an U-21 contract and isn't showing signs of breaking into the first team should be smart enough to realise that when they come out on loan they are in the shop window.

Reyes Cleary grabbed his chance with both hands when he came to Pools, but you have to go back a fair old way to find another loan player who has done as well for himself. Most weren't any better than the players we already had on the books, judging by what they've done since they left us.

Makes you wonder whether we should bother with loaning youngsters in the first place, although we've had a decent young keeper, or two.

Kemp was 24 when he joined Pools on loan. He wasn't a kid from an U-21 squad. Great signing though.

In that case we can put Armstrong in.
Wouldn't mind Kemp and Armstrong in there now.

but they are not smart due to being around in football from a real young age and expect everything to be an easy ride for them as there are always dools who look at a cv more than what players really offer. for every cleary there are many more like this. can take it a step further as players with numerous games at those levels do not all make it at our level just the same as the other way round.
