The Poolie Bunker

I've read on here that a few posters have not been to watch Pools for a while.
So when did you last watch Pools in action?

I thought you were about to say I have had a huge win lads and all of you who haven't been to a Pools game for a while are now invited at my generous expense.

Leggie, you have got me thinking!!!

How many to an executive box (or whatever they call them) these days at Pools?

New years day 26 months ago.
Was planning on going today but they cudent shape up to entice me back.
A simple task of getting to the top 7.

You asked.
I answered.
Keep it civil superfans.

If memory seves it used to be 12 in the I.O.R. days. Now I believe it's 10.

Don't be shy.
Worst case scenario.
Ya get called a shit fan and don't deserve an opinion.
I'm intriguied to read other opinion excuses.

Took my partners Thai son to his first live football game in the U.K., the Brackley cup game, sh*** weather, no atmosphere due to the low crowd, the only thing he enjoyed was the hotdog and coke at half time.

Ebbsfleet away.

Crawley at home, when we got relegated from league 2!!

Kidderminster away last season

Won't attend a home game until Raj clears off

Can't remember the last home game I went to

Brackley Away in the cup replay- still traumatised now!

Today's.

First season I haven't been to a single game for 30 years. Start of season largely due to health issues but since recovering really cannot be bothered.

My Thai gf got her visitor visa yesterday. Will be in the uk for 1 month. Did you bring yours on a spousal visa or you doing 6 month each way. My niece recommended the small Thai restaurant in Hartlepool.

I bring her on a 6 month Visitor Visas, we have had 4 Visitor Visas, last time we only stayed for 16 days. Why would you consider a Spouse Visa, not unless your Thai gf wants to settle in the U.K.. You probably already know this, you have to show earnings of £29k or have £88k in savings, just under £2000 for the application fee and around £3000 for the NHS fee, it gives her 30 months to stay in the U.K. and she can work.

Don’t bother with the Thai restaurant on the Marina, it’s not authentic Thai food, check the menu online and expensive, they don’t have the herbs or sauces to create authentic Thai food. We always bring loads of Thai produce with us, my Thai GF is 100% Thai and struggles to eat English food. There is a place in the Boro that sells Thai imported products but very very expansive.

English women are available.

Not in Thailand.

They are born actresses n stay that way.
They don't really Luv you long time.

Nice warmish weather tho when it's not raining.

You talking from a personal experience KPG, you ever been to Thailand, obviously not because it very rarely rains and if it does it only lasts a couple hours, do i detect envy and jealousy ?
Yes they are many stories of naive western men who get taken to the cleaners but there are also many more who have settled down and lead a perfectly happy life wether in Thailand or in the U.K.
How many western men have been cleaned out by their western wives KPG ?

When did you…?6

Are you on auto prediction to anything about Thailand.
How many times do I have to tell you that I've visited the promised land on 3 occasions
I recommend the pig n whistle pub in Pattaya and Ko Samet for a lovely chill out Island.

Other Travel Agents are available.

Did you get ripped of with a Thai woman, sounds like you did, you are all bar stool talk as we say here sitting in a bar listening to old farts telling stories.
I don’t frequent areas where the Pig and Whistle is, it’s where all the middle aged European sex pats go.

That’s you put in your place Kev………at 6.30 in the morning

Now I understand why he's the No. 1 Bunker Poster.

Yesterday unfortunately

A nit picked.

Old farts…? How old are you…..? The only Dating you’ll get is carbon dating, you’re no spring chicken.

maidenhead a couple of weeks back. if i lived closer even in ripon i,d be there every saturday game. it might be a waste of money watching pools but i have wasted loads over the years so why stop now.

Ditto

Other than the last ten minutes or so I didn't see any realistic chance of us beating York, who muscled us off the ball throughout - thought the ref was poor and let them get away with all sorts.

Mani D made a difference when he came on - but his finishing/ final touch was poor.

Cleary and Grey impressed but I saw nothing from Folarin - puts head down, runs at defender, wiggles, loses ball, and repeat.

Miley should have replaced Featherstone at 2:15pm.

23rd September 2017 - A 2-1 loss at home to Eastleigh.

I nearly moved to Eastleigh in the early 90's. That is when Eastleigh were in the Wessex League.
I was planning to go and see them play despite the poor level of football that would have been on offer.
I even said to myself at least Pools are in the Football League.
I never thought that the day would come that Pools would be beaten at home by them in a competitive football match!
But I saw it with my own eyes!

That’s nowt…our lass is from the Headland. So there.

Is there an age limit for dating Snowy, if you are single no matter what age you are, are you supposed to curl up and die, people like the company of the opposite sex or some even the same sex which ever takes your fancy.

My last match was the 2020 season…paid for my season ticket but never got to use it…me knee went…tried to but getting up the steps in the Cyril Knowles was dodgy with no hand rail or I’d have been ok….annoying, since I’ve only missed a handful of home games since 69….away games were another matter…miss it a lot, but that’s life…..if they ever get to putting a hand rail in I’ll be back…though I know two in the same boat also.
In the end though you’re just a customer….when the penny drops..Ah well.

Sorry to hear about your knee Snowy. What about a knee op? Usually cures the problem.

My Dad stopped going a few years back for same reason (struggling to get up and down stairs).

i,d say the older you get the more chances you have especially if you have all your hair, a car and keep yourself clean and tidy. so many unnatached women out there who are lonely. out of 25 members of our over 50 group there are only 4 men and about 15 of the women are all on there own. problem is none of em look as decent as her in the kitchen does that does not help my wandering eye.

Because as we have never spoke I not really paid attention to your situation so I wasn’t sure wether you where in the uk permanently or doing it 6 months in each country so you could get your state pension inflationary rise if you are aged 66 or more. Or if your younger your just doing a few short holidays on the visitor visa. Yes I noticed the difference in taste of Thai food in both countries.

I’ll PM you tomorrow Harrogate as some on here have no idea about me and my life although they think they do, I do wind some of thenm up though.

know you cannot have a handrail all the way up a stand, but surely there should be posts at the end of rows to help people who are not brilliant on their pins. in this health and safety obsessed world you would think that would be a requirement.

Funny one that because it’s related to a football injury in 76…a double leg break and in plaster hip to toe for four months…when it was took off I said it felt great …the surgeon said you won’t be saying that in 40 years time…. The bugger was right.

I decided I didn’t want to look a tit if it went, plus the possible injury entailed falling down stairs….I love Pools but……shit happens…but you don’t stop caring about the second love affair of your life.

funny how they brought in all seater grounds for safety but i have fallen coming up the steps at both seated areas of the vic and at the old belle vue ground but never when i have stood up anywhere.

Tried to PM you Harrogate but the message is in my outbox, don’t know how to send it ?

the headland cafe is owned by a thai lass and serves thai food along with british and breakfasts. i,d guess hers is authentic or makes it for western tastes at least. like a lot of stuff especially from indian and chinese you,ll never see most of it served in a house where those live.

Not saying it’s not any good but it can’t be authentic Thai food as they don’t sell the green herbs in the U.K. for the flavours, some of the Thai sauces are available at a place in the Boro but I doubt she would pay what they cost. My Thai partner cooks ‘real’ Thai food, there are so many different varieties which depends where you live. I eat Thai spicy food, my partner eats entirely different Thai food from me.

Get her a fresh Morrell’s picnic pork pie, convert her.

Was there on Saturday too. Allowing for the fact that York have used their money well to assemble a much better side than Pools, I thought we were competitive for most of the game but faded in the last 15 minutes. Agree that Miley should be starting but Feaths was decent apart for his rick for their goal. Smith still shouldn't be beaten at his near post.

I know we're all creatures of habit when it comes to the side of the ground we prefer, but there are hand rails up to the seats on the Mill House. You'd have to sit on the front row though as there are none further up.

Sat there before going over to the Mill House for years and got thoroughly pissed off with it….always bleedin cold….moved over to the Cyril Knowles for our first season in the Basement.
I know what I’m capable of and have to be realistic…

the reason i did the same on top of the old seats without a backrest on if you could not get a back row seat.
