never been a lager drinker but that scene always made me want to try it on a hot day. anyone remember watching lawrence of arabia at the pictures where i,m sure they turned the heat up in those desert scenes to sell more cold drinks and ice cream at the break. never been one who took notice of any adverts but admit that i purchased a 1947 humber super snipe due to the car chase on the film the blue lamp after it was shown on the tele in the mid 70,s.

On its fifty year anniversary Slade in Flame is getting a run out this weekend in selected cinemas.

If you’ve never seen it, it’s good. Gritty and funny with some good songs too.

I assumed the cinemas showing it wouldn't include any round here, and thus missed the fact that the Gala in Durham did. DOH...!!!

I have a rule that I don't buy anything on Blu-ray which I've already got on DVD, but I am seriously thinking of making an exemption in the case of Flame.

think it was kettering who mentioned alick guiness . just remembered he played a part in another film The Card where he bought an ailing football club and brought them success to become the hero of bursley which had a look of burslam to me. Need a remake with pools in mind but our card would be a joker and a remake of jokers wild would be more appropiate.

There's a fillum on tonight on TPTV ch.82 which I've seen before called The Last Man on Earth, made in 1957 and starring Vincent Price, I enjoyed it, probably one of the first ever zombie fillums but quite different as he voice overs virtually the whole fillum.

It's a cracking film, love Vincent Price, he always puts on a performance.
The omega man with Charlton Heston and I am legend with will smith are adapted from the same novel.

for me its a film thats got better with age. first saw it in the 60,s and was bored by it but watched it a couple of years back and found it enjoyable even though it was not my thing. a case of giving something a chance or second chance that many refuse to do.

I've never read the book but it's a great fillum - I've not seen it on TV for a long time though - perhaps it is banned for containing scenes that may upset wokes and snowflakes?
